THE PODCAST Ep. 180 : Charisse Nichols Star of Go-Go Motel

Charisse Nichols and myself sit down for a two and a half hour talk after many years of not seeing one another. We dish on Go-Go Motel, the good ole days of Baltimore and our current lives. A very revealing and fun discussion. Enjoy!

It has been that long, and it was sad as each one closed. I’ve embraced it.

So good, so good. Nicely done. Charise was a crack up. Sounds like some of the redneck bars I went to in my home town of 5,000 people. That was only one though. The memories of long ago are so much fun to talk about. But not do over again. Thanks Dan that was a great podcast.

Charrise's character was like a moth...not knowing how close to the fire she was...and knowing how close to the fire she was...at the same time...it was so strange...and not so strange...she was a star in her mind even on the low. It WAS magic.

The Go Go Motel is just unreal...it's got a despairing. disturbing evil that worms it's way into each scene. The tampon scene didn't make it into the movie? What part of Dan's mind has these dark, corrupted visions in it? Jesus. I've watched it 3 times, imagining this is what lived in Dan's mind. I'm addicted to exploring abandoned houses at night, ever since I was maybe 6 or 7 when I really got into it. People used to ask if I was ever afraid. I used to answer that when I was inside an empty, abandoned building or out skulking at night that "I was the one thing out there to be afraid of"...I didn't understand my words until later. I meant it. No matter what else was inside those ruined places, I was the worst of all. I turned into the monster.

I think she’s beautiful😍

Absolutely loved this podcast. Charisse is a fab guest and I loved hearing all about behind the scenes of Gogo Motel and all the Baltimore stories. I hope she comes on again - I'm sure there are more tales to be told lol

Kim

I hope Charisse finds herself a true partner in life where and when she least expects it. In the meantime, it sounds like she still gets attention from younger guys. If it's not to her liking, she need only say this sage line from Go-Go Motel, "Don't touch it, you can smell it from over there!" πŸ˜‰

This was a GREAT interview. Thank you Charisse for being so funny, open and for talking about the hard stuff at the end. 🧑

Absolutely LOVED this podcast!! I enjoyed hearing about the days you had before dirty rooms and malls. It made me think back to my club days in Chicago β€” has it been that long? Yes and I embrace my past as well as my present ❀️
