2021-04-21 09:48:53 +0000 UTCTo be honest, when Dan found the previously-lost footage of Margie & Scott, I thought the film might be delayed indefinitely. ...And that's NOT because I think Dan's lazy or procrastinating. Dan had a personal connection with these folks. This was never going to be an arm's-length-away, dispassionately-objective documentary. Revisiting this footage must be bittersweet. Yes, there's joy in rediscovering quirky incidents that bring smiles. But there's also a lot that's brutally sad (since we know Margie's and Scott's eventual fates). Personally, I found the last year brought up many feelings of loss. Not just THINGS (or opportunities) lost because of the public health restrictions, but family and friends I've lost. Some died years ago, some moved away or just drifted away. With that in mind, I'd understand how Dan could struggle to put the finishing touches on something as emotionally-charged as Margie & Scott, yet he worked through it + prepared for the move, etc. Dan said he had a breakdown (broke down and cried). Good. It means his coping system is working as it should.

I also appreciate how Dillon is very supportive of Dan. Dan wanted him to spill the tea on his "breakdown" and he was very nice about it all. Truly nice to /hear/see a supportive couple. Great podcast as always, keep up the great work!
