I'm glad you didn't go to Wilmington because both I-95 and I-40 flooded (and are still flooded) so you would've been stuck eating MREs and driving back country roads for 6 hours of detours (although that's your thing already, maybe that would've been fun).

She believes it operated from around the '60's until sometime in the '80's, but it may still exist. Evidently, it had a jungle atrium with a pool that wound through it, and from her description, sounded next level awesome. We did have Holiday Health Spas here in the LA area back in the day, but this one was not connected to the chain. I figured you would be the man to ask about this.
