Bit of a nonstarter

Every time I tell myself the next comic will be something simple to draw I come up with a 3-part sci fi epic. The most difficult part with this one was explaining the concept in as few words as possible. It would have been too confusing to present completely wordlessly, but I knew that too much narration would also bog down (no pun intended) the panels.

I think the assumption the average instagram/twitter scroller would be familiar with a 1951 sci fi premise is a bit of a stretch. part of the tightrope walk I like to do with webcomics on social media is coming up with a joke that's accessible to a general audience, while still pushing it to be weird and outside the box. I agree visually it would look cooler without words, but in my opinion, they were needed in this case

See "Pictures Don't Lie" (1951) by Katharine MacLean (which I read as a kid) but other stories exist too. I daresay without the words it would have been even more impactful - but I'm no artist.
