A tale of two kitties

Some old beetle lore but I used to work at a True Value hardware store in Boston for a short stint probably back in 2013 ish. I remember on rare occasion helping customers find an assortment of products which were NEARLY suspicious. The thought popped into my head back then: what shopping cart would actually warrant suspicion to a point that we could deny sale. I never found out the answer because I never actually asked my boss, probably because I was smoking copious amounts of marijuana before work. Anyway fast forward 12 years or so and I’m an upstanding citizen. But the idea came to me again and I thought of turning it into a comic. I particularly like the structure of this one because you could argue the punchline happens on the second frame. It’s challenging but most funny to me when I can make the joke situational rather than setup-punchline, ie the structure of the Big Binky/Banana Boys comic. It’s a little less common for webcomics to express situational humor since they’re so tight and concise, and it’s rewarding when I’m able to get an idea like this to work in 3 panels.
