Chapter 75: Olivia's Protection

After the incident, Lisa thought she might have to step in to help.

But it turned out there was no need for that.

Mike didn't even use Praxis, just the most basic astrological applications combined with basic martial arts, and he was already moving so fast that even Lisa had trouble keeping up. If he had gone all out, it would have been disastrous.

The military officer was stunned. He couldn't understand how a newly promoted corporal could beat him so badly when his astrology gave him unmatched speed.

The officer staggered out of the collapsed wall and unhesitatingly unleashed his Praxis, moving with blinding speed, and lashing out with a powerful kick.

But to Mike, it was still too slow.

Electricity arcing across his body, Mike easily sidestepped the kick, then brought his fist back and unleashed a thunderous punch!

Boom! The officer was sent flying, this time smashing right through the corridor wall.

Mike shook his hand, his eyes gleaming with electricity as he surveyed the group coldly.

The two civilian officials from the Population Bureau nervously backed into the corner. They had military experience from years ago, but taking a punch from this kid would likely leave them half-dead if not outright killed.

"Second... Glory Realm!"

The soldiers were stunned. How could this corporal have advanced to the Second Glory Realm so soon after breaking through?

Mike spoke softly, "As for Ember's population distribution policies, I won't comment. Because some people would truly not be able to survive if they weren't assigned to certain families. But I will say, that no matter what, they are still human. At least, their civil rights haven't been revoked, have they?"

The injured officer spat out blood, his eyes full of fear.

The two officials were at a loss, leading the group of soldiers away.

Lisa watched the young man's back, suddenly realizing she had learned something. Mike's actions were legal, protecting his rights, not just mindless defiance of his superiors.

"Now..." Mike pulled a revolver from his pocket.

"You are suspected of illegal collusion with heretics and human trafficking."

"You are suspected of public disturbance."

"You are suspected of heresy."

Hearing this familiar tone, the people were filled with dread. This was Williams' standard repertoire - as long as you defied his will, he would pile on one charge after another, ultimately linking you to heresy. Defy further, and you might as well start planning your funeral.

"You are now under arrest-"

The soldiers felt the crushing pressure, cold sweat pouring down their faces. Especially the injured officer - he finally broke under the immense intimidation, shouting, "We're leaving! I refuse to believe he'll dare kill us all! We're going to report this to our superiors, and let the higher-ups deal with this madman personally!"

The soldiers helped him up and hurriedly left. The two officials fled as if escaping the very gates of hell.

Mike watched them go. After a while, he suddenly said, "Damn, that felt so good."

This was the power that violence brought. It was intoxicating, but only when used to oppress the wicked. Bullying the weak held no satisfaction.

"Isabelle." Mike suddenly thought of something, turning to her. "Did you see those people? If you don't take your medicine properly next time, you'll be going with them, understand?"

Isabelle's face was expressionless. "I won't go."

Lisa watched the brother and sister banter, realizing that even these assigned families could be warm and loving, like two abandoned souls finding solace in each other.

She then frowned at Mike. "Mike, you are a fast learner when it comes to the wrong things. I shouldn't have let you go to the Inquisition!"

Mike felt a bit sheepish.

Just then, the departing soldiers returned.

"So fast?"

Mike was ready for battle.

Even Lisa got up, her gaze sharpening.

However, the soldiers were retreating, cowering in the corner like a flock of frightened quails, as if they had seen a female ghost in broad daylight.

Especially the officer, his hand holding the walkie-talkie was trembling.

Someone bent down and snatched the walkie-talkie from his hand.

Placing it on the ground, they stepped on it.

Crack.

The walkie-talkie was shattered.

It was a young nun, her delicate features not particularly outstanding, her black and white ceremonial robe accentuating her graceful and shapely figure, exuding a natural aura of coldness.

Just like Olivia on a snowy cliff.

A high priest was following her, yawning as if sleepwalking.

"Olivia?"

Mike was surprised, "How did you get here?"

Olivia glanced at him, her pupils slightly narrowing.

She had finally found the witch she wanted to see.

Isabelle was currently hugging a plush toy and sitting on the bed, her short black hair scattered on her delicate face, looking as cute as a doll.

Although very pretty, she seemed a bit lacking in intelligence.

Of course, there was another person in the room, much to her surprise.

Lisa.

And this crazy woman had just taken a bath, dressed in a lazy, casual outfit.

To inherit this in a boy's house, how improper.

"We meet again."

She remembered her current disguised identity and nodded slightly.

Isabelle did not recognize her, so she did not speak to her.

Lisa was puzzled, wondering how a nun from the Sanctuary could be here, and she seemed quite familiar with Mike.

Just as Mike was about to say something, he was interrupted.

"Shut up, don't come to cause trouble."

Olivia couldn't be bothered to catch up with him, instead staring into the officer's eyes, enunciating each word, "Now answer my question, who instructed you and for what purpose?"

The officer was trembling, but he forcefully remained silent.

Olivia lost her patience and said in a flat tone, "Steve, take action."

The one named Steve, sleepwalking, stepped forward and grabbed the officer's neck, his five fingers suddenly tightening, as if wanting to crush his throat.

Mike was shocked, the people from the Sanctuary were so violent.

Lisa leaned in and whispered to him, "They all learned it from the High Priest."

Until the officer's face turned red and he could barely breathe, he was released.

Olivia asked again, "Next time, I'll have someone directly twist your neck."

The officer didn't expect to be targeted by the Sanctuary, and finally revealed the truth, "I don't know anything! I just received orders from my superiors to send back all the military supplies to the orphanage, and quickly. I don't know why, I only know that Lieutenant Jack suspected and cracked the secret of the immortalized people, and it was not Major Lisa. Then Deputy Director Mo issued the order, and the rest I don't know!"

He paused, "There must be someone else behind it."

Lisa narrowed her eyes, with her brain, she had already figured out the incident in the military tent that day.

When Mike came back to report his results, he had specifically asked him to leave.

It was only natural for Jack to be suspicious.

Not only Jack, but many people would be suspicious.

Lisa didn't care.

But the question is, why would they target Mike himself, even his sister?

Mike also found it very strange, pondering for a moment, and thought to himself, "It shouldn't be, the ones who want to capture the witch are the Necro Cult. Although they also have infiltrating forces in this city, they shouldn't be Jack and the people behind him. Back then, Ron and Jack were loyal to some big shot behind the scenes. But those people are trying their best to secretly erase the Necro Cult."

The two groups are not on the same side.

The logic doesn't add up.

If it's Jack and the people behind him who want to target Mike, they shouldn't be going after his sister.

If it's the Necro Cult who wants to capture the witch, then Jack shouldn't be the one stirring up trouble behind the scenes.

Olivia got the answer she wanted and said indifferently, "Get out of here."

The officer was scared shitless, fleeing with the soldiers, tumbling and crawling.

"These people are just pawns, no need to strike them down."

Olivia's voice had a jade-like quality, "Letting these people go is also to intimidate the people behind them. The Sanctuary's deterrent power is still quite sufficient."

Mike was full of question marks, not knowing where she had suddenly emerged from.

And why did she come so timely?

"Williams asked me to help you,"

Olivia glanced at the young man, "He guessed you were in trouble."

She deflected the responsibility without batting an eye.

Mike was stunned, "Why isn't he coming himself?"

Given Williams' personality, if he knew something had happened, he would have just brought people to arrest them.

You file the report, I'll sign the order.

Whoever dares to resist, will all be buried alive.

"He's had some issues and has currently been suspended pending investigation," Olivia reminded.

"You better be careful yourself," this woman said as she walked in, glancing at the medicinal meal on the table, finding the aroma quite pleasant.

As she passed by Mike, she raised her hand and touched him.

She touched his forehead, and chest, then squeezed his shoulders and arms.

Hmm, advanced, brimming with energy, raging electric power.

Good.

She glanced at the witch on the bed, the brain damage recovery was not bad.

The kitchen still had the foul stench of the medicinal liquid residue.

A faint smile unconsciously emerged on her lips.

Let this little punk call her an old lady.

Finally, she stole a glance at Lisa's exposed long legs, her gaze slightly stern.

Lisa didn't know who this woman was, but her gaze was more fierce than her own mother's.

But she recognized that high priest.

The senior disciple of the Ancestral Temple is rumored to have had an accident during his divination cultivation, causing a drastic personality change.

Turning him into a thorough lazybones, sleeping all day or always drowsy.

But his abilities are very strong.

A level higher than hers.

For him to be her escort, this nun's identity must not be simple.

"What's going on exactly?" Mike couldn't help but ask.

"Due to the interference of Divine Intelligence, Williams has been listed as a suspect because of his aberrant arts," Olivia said matter-of-factly.

Olivia remembered the task at hand and said casually, "Kid, stretch out your right hand."

Mike's heart tightened, but he still extended his right hand.

Olivia placed her soft hand in his palm and released a gentle holy light.

Mike felt his Dark Matter inside screaming and boiling.

He forcibly suppressed the instinct to strike out.

Well, at least you have a conscience.

Olivia knew he was restraining the urge to lash out, continuing to release the gentle divine power, weaving a complex matrix on his hand, like a tattoo.

But not as painful as a tattoo.

Rather, it was quite comfortable.

"There, all done," Olivia waved her hand, dispersing the holy light threads, her smooth forehead beaded with a fine sweat.

Mike didn't know what had happened, only that the Dark Matter inside him seemed to have changed, from the original dark and thick to now the holy and pure.

The essence of the power had not changed at all.

It was just like a layer of film was coated on it.

"Now you can openly use that technique in front of outsiders," Olivia said after completing the task, looking quite fatigued.

The seemingly inconspicuous operation required extremely precise techniques.

It had to both conceal the aura of the Dark Matter and not damage its essence.

Especially without harming the host.

In comparison, creating a holy light barrier would just consume massive divine power.

But not to the point of tiring her out this much.

Mike was stunned, "Was this all just for this?"

Olivia didn't answer, but her gaze was somewhat pensive.

The tragedy of Williams in the past, cannot be repeated on Mike.
