A thought occurs if you want to get to know multiple doctors in one episode you could aways watch "the three doctors" or "the five doctors"

The writer credit "David Agnew" is a pseudonym, in the same vein as "Alan Smithee", usually used when the script has undergone such serious revision by the production team that it bears little resemblance to the original author's drafts, since the production staff were not allowed to take screen credit according to BBC rules. In this case, the story was commissioned from writer David Fisher but fleshed out by the producer (Graham Williams) and the script editor (the legendary Douglas Adams, who was fresh from penning the OG Hitchhikers' Guide To The Galaxy radio series).

Yeah but ironically only Peter d took that advice from classic who. McCoy snd c baker didn’t get a chance

Following up from your comment. It was Patrick T who popularised the 3 years and done pattern

Ok so the cigarette was just that. That was a holder that ladies used so they didn’t have to get the tobacco in their mouths before filters. Tom bakers run came to an end in nineteen eighty. This was the second to last series. This was the second romana, yes k9 was in this series but the prop was problematic so having it go about the Paris streets wouldn’t have worked. So the series used to be mostly all year round at the beginning but got shorter as the show went on William hartnel finished in season 4 serial 2, Patrick troughton finished in season 6. Pertwee went on to season 11 and baker who was the longest doctor ( episodic) was there till 18 After that the doctors went to a 3 year period ( except for Colin baker who only did 2 years) the longest running doctor however was Sylvester McCoy who although only ran for three seasons till 89 filmed his regeneration scene in the tv movie in 1996 making him technically nine years

You say off screen but you kind of see the regeneration, sort of

If you want ideas for classic episodes, pyramids of Mars is an iconic adventure and it features Sarah Jane so it has a companion you'll know.

The time war was created to explain the gap in between the classic series and the modern series, other timelords and gallifrey were still a thing in classic who Romana is a timelady that was introduced at the beginning of season 16, she had two onscreen incarnations and one audio drama one that was played by Juliet Landau

Unkn0wn_ 289

Answering your question on Romana, YES! She did in fact regenerate but off screen inbetween season 16 &17, romana l was in season 16 and then she regenerated off screen before the first story of season 17 played by Lalla Ward who you saw, she played a character in the previous season and it was a early example of a timelord choosing the body they regenerated into, bit of trivia that you might be hit with tons, Lalla Ward & Tom Baker actually got married after filming this season but thier relationship was short and toxic

Matt Guppy

You’ve picked a great story to react to. Your probably said this In your reviews but I’m just curious, when are you getting back to reviewing Doctor who

Matt Guppy

Thanks so much for this Noah! happy St Patricks day from Ireland!
