FREYR'S POV
I sat in Mother's sitting form. Something she called the Lotus position. My eyes were closed, my breathing normal, and my fists connected in front of me. My lips parted at intervals to utter a single word.
"Death".
Unlike Ozai who must have found creating angels easy, it was in no way easy for me. First was the fact that I wasn't creating life or creating anything close to life. Second was the fact that he had the aid of the Flames of Life too. I didn't. All I had was death, absolute chaos, and destruction.
So I decided to do something else.
Why was I doing this? It was simple. Mom had a way to end me. That way of course would let me harness my full powers. A demon of death who experienced death understood far more than anyone. A destruction demon who felt being destroyed would be more insightful and more knowledgeable of it.
It was why I had grown in power just a bit when the Undule had killed me. "There is of course that way". By letting my avatars die again and again and again till I was fully powerful. Something told me mother would not appreciate it.
But the main reason I didn't want that was simple. I couldn't wait. Maybe before. But not now. Not after Ozai. His mistake, or error. His slip-up in showing and telling me just what he thought of me sent a kind of hurt I didn't expect to feel.
I didn't know if anything could trump it but I knew I didn't appreciate it. The feeling of betrayal and abandonment for no other creature or being but mere mortals. If Haero had picked Sol over me that would have been more understandable. Same for his Pegasi. But Ozai selected a group of creatures, mortals that didn't even stand on the same pedestal as us.
'Don't'. It was hard to not see the mortals as such low creatures. Really hard. Ozai didn't help either. I shook off the thought. My concern was in the now and current issue. What did I want the angels for? If I had a solution to my issue I didn't need some weak beings around to do my...
I paused. Looked up and frowned. 'Wasn't that why Ozai made them? For his strength, he could not return the dead to life. Or do it in a widespread way even with the Flames'. I didn't laugh or feel any sense of amusement. No, I found a purpose for angels.
'Just like Ozai, I might just need them here. Messengers for my followers'. I turned to look at the Ennogra who was still stuck in the mist of darkness my mother had stuck him in. People like him, with so much hate and anger in his heart from the disgrace his people had subjected him to would need a guiding hand.
'My guiding hand'.
Yet at the same time, I knew that whatever I wanted to make it had to be something that would remind Ozai of this day. He would never be able to forget the day he chose mortals over his own brother.
"Make them in your image?". I shook my head. "No". My white hair popped ablaze with black and purplish fire. FA fire that spread like the streams of the Star River. Down to my palm where it popped into the air and pulsed red in a similar fashion as the petals of life.
There were five of them. "These will be enough to show Ozai the difference between our creations". I drew on the energy of destruction, chaos, and death within me and poured it out into the air. The wind got sucked in, the ground began corroding as it gave way to death.
The area turned darker. Only the slight glow of the chaos flame illuminating the environment with a purple glow remained. I could feel it now. Sense what I could do with all this energy. The corroded ground fed more death and life energy to me while the others grew from just the nature of damage happening to the surroundings.
I pulled at the gathering energy and began. Shutting my eyes helped me picture the first of them the entity my brother had made. And as I saw it I shaped my own into a macabre and twisted version. When I was done I shivered at what stood before me.
It was nothing like the beauty that was Ozai's angels. It possessed flowing black hair, contrasting against their pale, almost skeletal skin. Its eyes emitted a cold, piercing light that reflected its lack of care even when closed. The wings were dark with a shadowy hue and exuded an aura of dread and foreboding.
Its eyes remained shut. I didn't think much of it as I was already focused on the next one. Imagining the golden one without features that Ozai had created another of mine formed.
It was a shadowy being, its form shrouded in darkness. Its expression also veiled in darkness, its features embodying a sense of solemnity and melancholy. Its body was made of ethereal shadows, allowing it to move silently and unseen to stand next to the first. Obsidian black wings hung from its back emanating an eerie glow. I could barely smile as it was coming together. I shook my head. I wasn't done, so I had to focus on making the last three.
The third one just like the first two was a mimicry of a Solivert. It lacked the traditional features of the others just like a Solivert, its form was covered in a cloak of darkness. It had empty, abyssal eyes and a skeletal appearance, a presence that evoked dread and despair. Its body was adorned with swirling patterns of darkness.. it gave off an aura of emptiness and nihilism.
The last two that formed finally forced a grin to my lips. One was a decrepit angel, its body a horrid decaying flesh and rotting remnants of wings. It wore tattered robes, Its presence was something I knew would strike fear and revulsion, and its dark tenebrous, and rotten wings radiated with the stench of death and decay. It lay on its four limbs, crawling like a beast.
The very last angel was everything I had hoped for. Where Ozai's guarded and protected, mine would bring destruction. To his angels of course. Its form was twisted and warped by the flames of annihilation. It had obsidian horns, adding to its ominous stature. Its body was consumed by red and purple flames, exuding an aura of destruction and despair. Its massive wings were engulfed in shadowy smoke and dripping liquid fire.
Freyr took in all this information and had only one word for it. "Perfection".
