Glimmering Abyss of the Northern Seas - The Abyssal Deep

THIRD PERSON POV

It was dark. Pitch black. The only signs of life being none at all. Noiseless and slightless. The Black Deep was renowned for this very reason. It's eerie quiet the reason the Qitsarlmer never dare go so far below in the Glimmering Abyss. Yet something was below. Something that had been pulled and attracted.

This thing had been attracted in various directions. But this was the closest attraction so far. It's blood boiled and churned. Drawn like a nail to a magnet. And so it followed. Hidden by the darkness of the abyss, its black sleek, and streamlined body gliding effortlessly through the water. Faint shimmers ran through hard-to-see scales. Its body was unending and without measure. Coiling and going far into the abyss and beyond.

Yet with all its hidden qualities the markings that stretched across its body did little to spare it from total invincibility. Golden and purplish faint markings pulsed as it received and sent out echoes of its thoughts to any life that dared swim in the abyss with it.

It halted finally at the base of where it'd been drawn to all this while. Its mind scrambled to make sense of what next to do. What had drawn it here? Why had it been pulled here? Confusion warred in its mind. One rant was suddenly and abruptly forgotten as a wave of energy unlike none in the waters washed over it. It was cold. It was chilly. Yet it gave it an energy it didn't know it lacked.

Words flowed into its mind and suddenly it could understand more than ever before. It settled back and began to think. To arrange and to sieve through all knowledge pushed into its mind. Then it clicked.

Its head rose so fast in excitement and surprise that the ocean didn't appreciate it. The ocean rushing to get out of its way surged. Calamity struck. Like a tidal wave of destruction, black inky ester surged up and above. It should have gone down but it had no path there. The sea always makes a way for itself.

Large purplish orbs the kind that would make Molliwag proud blinked creating another outburst of waves. It watched unsure as the wave rose and rose. Like a tidal walk that surged up through the seas and encroached on the earthen structure where it had seen the tiny fishes staying. It wanted to act. To stop this tidal monstrosity of its doing.

Yet with all the knowledge it had received not a whiff of ideas came to mind. Any attempt to act physically would be a word grander than cataclysmic. It watched.

And then that thing. That magnet that churned and boiled its blood. Pulled at it like a nail appeared. There was no grand display of power, no light, and no loud noises of explosions. The wall of an underwater wave simply paused. Then like nothing had happened it simply stayed hanging. Like a wall of water that hadn't been on its way to end all life.

Its attention left the wall when it sensed the energy that pulled and drew it in coming closer.

"Well, aren't you quite huge". The voice was in its mind sounding like nothing it had ever heard. Not like it had ever heard much. Then it saw her. Floating in the water like she owned it. Her left arm was outstretched at the wall of water and her purple eyes locked on it with a glint that sent shivers down its scales. A tongue ran out her mouth a slicked her lips.

'You look, very, interesting '.

TORA'S POV

Gaining my first follower was something that seemed to be part of a quest. Or Hidden Quest. One that expanded into a larger quest the next moment. I was staring at Ganuo while my mind picked through the words of the quest when the water stirred slightly.

The message was enough to send me swimming downwards with ferocity. Parting the water around me with magic I was unimpeded by any force or resistance. It took me a shorter period to get down than it took me to come up. By the time I got close enough to see Aurora Atoll a gasp almost left my lips. A large wall of water surged for it coming from below the Black Deep and pulverizing any and every stone and. rock, fauna, and plant life in its path.

Taking control of the water wasn't so hard as all I needed was to manipulate every last bit of Akasha in the water wall. It was only then that I focused on what was behind the water down in the deep.

Dull yet flickering lights of a twisting and twirling fashion looped through the darkness. It would have been hard to see, almost impossible for any other Qitsarlmer. My eyes pierced the dark and found the large, very long shape that was unending. Its form stretched and vanished beyond the very edge of my sight, looping around underwater hills and crags. Its long slender neck reminding me of Molliwag's.

It was the purple eyes just like this incarnation of one that pulled me closer. I spoke mentally the way Qitsarlmers do underwater. Imagine my surprise when it did too.

'You even more'. Astounded I floated closer. My eyes left its eyes to admire the now dim streaks of light that had pulsed when the voice spoke in my head.

'What are you?'. My curiosity crossed through the link and the thing shivered. Then the streaks pulsed as words returned.

'I... Do not know. What are you? Why do I feel something in you?'.

I froze. Blinked once then twice before I floated closer. At this point, I was right in front of it my form nothing but a speck to its mere face. 'May I touch you?'.

A sense of approval rolled through it so I got closer and set my palms on it. It was like touching a large wall. With that wall being a single scale. 'Amazing'. The thing churned and shivered. Somehow it understood and liked. I smiled and tried sensing through it. Just like I did with anything I wished to study.

I found a lot of energies roaring and rushing through it. One I knew, the other was familiar and the last was something that I'd just sensed not more than an hour ago. I floated back tail flapping as I floated enough for it to see me clearly.

'I don't understand. You bear energy so pure and so different from any other in this world'. I twirled and then made a sitting position gathering water below me. 'I don't understand as that's impossible. But I sense three energies. Two are older than the third. The first is an energy that feels similar to biggest brother Molliwag. Which makes sense as you look a bit similar to him. The other belongs to mummy. Which doesn't make sense. The last finally is something new even to me'. Tora rubbed her jaw.

'Does that make you sibling or... Nephew. Wait are you...female. Niece then'. The creature sure looked confused its eyes flickering from here to there.

'Akasha what is she?'.

'Somerhing older than even Vaustaris '. The voice chimed in my head. 'Even I didn't sense her. Which makes sense as her very form was one made of Primordial Chaos'.

'What do you mean?'.

'Just scan her with your Abstract'. The voice urged. I did as said and blinked in surprise at what I saw.

'How is this possible?'.

'I believe I know how. After checking a lot of things it is hard to know exactly since this occurred even before I was made'. I knew by that she meant herself and not mother. While we always referred to her as mum we all knew her and mother were different somehow.

'But from what I gathered both from memories, hers, myself, the original self that is, and your brother Molliwag I believe this is true'.

'You can access memories?'.

'I can access anything and everything '. I blinked at that.

'So want do you have?'.

'Scan her again '. Looking up I found the creature still watching me calmly.

'Is there a way she could be awakened?'. I asked.

'She's already awakened. Unlike others who needed to tap into the Akashic, I needed to tap into her. It's like how their siblings have access to me in more ways than the Records but can't use me without knowing what for'.

'Then what is different for her'.

'For the longest time. She existed outside my purview. Not really, more like she was there. But a dead space to me. Like her father'.

It was something else that I might have to investigate. I scanned the creature before me and took in the words Akasha had added to her records.

I looked at the creature again. 'Born from brother and fused with divine essence from mother. You are very interesting indeed'. Its eyes were still staring ahead in what was an interaction with its records. It would soon learn to converse and keep reacting to its surroundings.

'So I found out what the Unknown was. What's my reward?".

I sensed the moment Akashic force began reacting around me. Turning my head to look in the direction of the swirling force I saw the blueish-gray energy gather at a point. 'Is it not too far from me'. It didn't have to appear that far away but I didn't know what the Spear of Primordial Ice was anyway.

The sound of the energy popping was muffled by the water squeezing in on us from all directions. Still, it didn't stop the vibrations from reaching the serpent. Its head turned again causing yet another ripple and wave of water that shot towards me. It was a hassle to stop this second wave as I had to use my free hand as a focus. Directing it into the other wave I then clenched both with my left hand and focused back on the Akashic force.

It was gone. In its place floated Mother. 'Why is she...' Mother was a blur of vision as she darted past me. White bubbles and water splashed at me as she stopped right before the serpent.

"Well, I understand how you didn't see her now".I swam closer to Mom watching her as the serpent too watched her. There was no fear in its eyes just a curiosity that rivalled even mine. Mother drifted closer hands touching its scales, murmurs leaving her lips, and at times a weird grin as she floated over the thing head and then down.

It was only then that I noticed Mom's look. Just like me, she had a beautiful Enumae. Her scales were littered with beautiful colors. Her black hair flowers behind her in the water with streaks of white in it. Her eyes, her eyes were like the Shells of Atoll Gardens. Shimmering with barely repressed light and colors.

The mother turned to me with that same grin on her face. Though it warped I to something filled with pleasure. She was next to me in an instant and grabbing my shoulders she squeezed me against her.

"My baby looks all grown. But not yet". She giggled at me. I frowned trying to concentrate on holding onto that wall of water that still threatened the Aurora Atoll. Mother must have noticed as she took a glance at my hand and then at the large wall of water.

"Woah. That's huge'. She turned back to me then to the serpent. " Bet she did that. She's amazing just like her aunties and uncles and father". Mother giggled again then turned to me " And you, my very special daughter lack a reward ".

Mother outstretched her hand in front of her and between us, her palms facing upward. A shimmer of golden light appeared and spread out in a long line then shimmered down to reveal a long and glorious-looking white spear.

My hand reached out for it subconsciously, luckily the weight of the water wall I was holding reminded my right hand I was holding something so only my left moved.

"Wait!!". Mother frowned. Slowly floated up and backward. Her eyes roved over me and then the spear took a look around them at the wall of water before smiling. "A spear is definitely not suitable for your underwater kingdom my dear". Holding out the sosr with one hand she swept her right palm over it.

There was an energy oozing from her fingers and into the spear. One that reminded me of the energy I felt from the moon. The spear rippled like water and then thickened as its head stretched and then split forming a beautiful-looking three-headed spear. The joining of the three heads was thick, the shaft sturdy, and going down to the end it looked beautiful.

"Your very own Trident".

The moment it slipped into my arms I felt a vigor unlike anything rush through me. I didn't notice the light blue hair that flowed from my hair nor the slight hue change of my eyes. I did notice the feeling of cold and yet how it didn't bother me. I felt how the water wall I held lost all the weight it had before.

"Woah". The wall wasn't heavy before but it definitely gave an inkling of its presence. Now. It felt like I was holding nothing. "What is this mother?". I asked her and she remained silent looking at me with a knowing grin.

"A little something I wanted you to have". She winked and then turned to the serpent. "And as for you granddaughter. She swam closer. Daddy will be happy to meet you". She rubbed herself against the serpent. Due to its size, it was remarkably funny. The serpent though seemed a lesser for some reason.

Mother placed a hand on its scaled forehead between its head and then sent a pulse of Akashic force through it. Its eyes took on a deeper clarity unlike before and then it raised its head.

'Grand...ma'. Its voice boomed through the sea and into our minds. I and definitely Mother noted the way its marking pulsed at that moment.

"Yes. And she is your Aunt. Your father's little sister. Listen to her okay". Mother gave the scales a tap and then turned to me. Winked again and then with a surge of Akasha she was gone.

'Grand...ma'. the serpent seemed to still be getting used to the intense knowledge dump that Mother had filed her with. There was another surge of Akasha and mother reappeared. "Sorry, dear. One last thing. Since you took after your father. But whereas he is Lord and protector of the skies and universe, you in opposite are Lady and protector of my worlds. I'll call you...Uhm... definitely not Mollie... Not Lily. Not...ahah Lilithra.". She taped the serpent again.

"Lilithra, First Grandchild of the Creator. Daughter of the Primordial Chaos Dragon. All of Vaustaris is yours to protect. Maybe one day you like your father will swim in larger waters". She smiled then vanished again.

"That's hopefully the last time". I murmured before looking behind me and past the wall of water or the gather Qitsarlmers gathered at the edge and watching all the events. Their wide eyes and a gaping mouth with bubbles going in and out were enough to clarify they'd seen all this.

Shaking my head I looked back to my spear while ignoring Lilithra who was trying her hardest to not roll in some serpent-like glee. Akasha was quick to show me what my Trident could do. Information that made me blink.

Tora smirked as she eyed the wall of water. A perfect present for the Qitsarlmers. Swimming closer she gripped the Trident harder then stabbed into the wall of water. Freezing cold rushed through the wall of water, cracking sounds and white ice creeping across the surface and within it faster than one could blink.

Fate Magic. I see fate as a domino. So what if instr suggestion it becomes a fix and spoil magic. Domino 1 is ripped and it hits all the dominoes till Domino last. If fate magic removes say one or two dominoes that changes the fate of the last domino. It doesn't fall. Of course there is the fact that someone else now used fate magic to replace the remove dominoes and reasserts the fate line.

I don't even want to dabble in that. Just interested in how it would be seen since this is game. Fate should not work since well fate is sort of like a future thing. Like prophecies. So I thought what if instead of being a future matter it becomes a calculation. When the equations are available a distinct result is feasible. Like a college student working on a equation. While the stud student arrives at an answer he remains unsure of its accuracy till the teacher marks him good or bad. What if fate is like. Calculating a certain prospect. Say, I kill a girl. The girl's father is bound. To wnT revenge. But if course there are various factors. Like personality, causal effect or how the father felt, emotional effects. All this things. So when all are calculated it comes to a reJlt of this is your fate or not. But to make it less fixated or impossible to change this fate becomes a line or strong like the Greek fates used. When something drastic alters, say a Priest manages to convince the father to forgive or a succubus enthralls the man and he forgets till I die. All this thing could affect affect. But what do I know just thinking of it. Fate Magic on the other hand is something that I've not even thought of. I'll think of it now

I'm not sure how karma works but Fate is tricky. You can't do a forced action or future sight really. So my personal preference for Fate magic is a form of suggestion magic. Something that nudges people towards a goal with no explanation. However, the question then becomes who determines when and how Fate magic would work. So I think Fate needs some kind of trigger like an Oath to accomplish something. Akasha would know whenever someone makes an Oath even if they are alone so it would be an option. That said Fate is hard (personally I broke Fate magic in my own setting and made it something that requires consent to alter and mess with a person's Fate)

How do you think fate would work in thai game. In conjunction with karma.

The legends of this place. I'm not sure if that ice wall is going to become a religious site, a landmark for lilthra's domain, or a dozen other possibilities but rifts below I cannot wait to see how the lore continues to develop. Also I saw your frozen reference. πŸ˜’
