You aren't the only one who isn't a huge fan of Hate You. I understand why people like it and I love his voice but, nope! Not my favorite. Shot Glass of Tears is my favorite with Yes or No not far behind. :P

Stacy Zanavich

Let me be the odd woman out...I really liked 3D even with Jack (his lyrics were poor but his tone worked for me). I actually can't stand "Hate You"...skip it every time. (I know ppl love it, but I can't with that type of song.) My favorite on the album is Yes or No, that will be the song I will have on repeat. The rest of the album took a few listens to grow on me but I can say after Yes or No, I liked Somebody and Shot Glass Full of Tears. It is a solid pop album, and JK's voice was showcased well and diversely.

Ravislyn

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who thought there was a feature on Somebody. LOL Great review AJJ Im feeling everything u said bc you said what you said! Periodt lol

Jikio

Lmao I also gave Golden a 9 just for Jack Harlow πŸ˜…πŸ˜… My faves are in order, Shot Glass of Tears, Too Sad to Dance, Hate You, Yes or No, and Please Don't Change. πŸ’œπŸ’œ like SGOT is my anthem. πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Karla24.wintaebear

LMAO I completely second AJJ's ranking. He said what he said! I replace that version with the Alt in my playlists πŸ‘πŸΏ And I'm glad your mic caught Mika's laughter πŸ˜‚

https://youtu.be/kdN4MniOxyA?si=qJDu53E3tyU2X9IU I spent 3 hours this morning watching The Today show just so I could see him. Link is not best quality but the best I could find.

Blaze is definitely feeling Closer lol! Sir! I read something in sm where the person was told their significant other that they were looking for the right person. The partner responded that they needed them to be a better person and that really stuck with them. I so see that in this song. Too Sad to Dance really speaks to me because I've decide to quit trying to date. And I've been even happier that I thought I would be. Just me doing me, because I don't need anyone to dance. Anyone remeber Jimin being too sad to dance in his kitty ears on Run BTS? That is all I can picture when this song comes on lol!

Rae Avilez

Another great album reaction as usual!! Mika stole the show a couple times for sure! I am soooooo with you Nico about Jack Harlow. 3D is already meh for me but, Jack made it worse. I skip it too. It's Shot Glass of Tears and Yes or No for me. Although, Standing Next To You, Hate You, Somebody and Please Don't Change aren't far behind! Such an amazing album!! JK is a diamond in the rough!

Stacy Zanavich

She was a big mood for sure πŸ˜‚

This entire album is storytelling at its finest. From 3D to Shot Glass of Tears it's the musical evolution of a relationship. I agree with y'all on Hate You, the emotions JK emotes with the way he sings those notes puts you right into the emotions of the lyrics. Also, petty 1000 on Somebody, like look, don't bring yo ass here thinking I'm gonna go through this with you again. I think the ending of Shot Glass of Tears is an internal dialog of wanting to be hopeful. He recognizes the relationship he went through was toxic and what he was doing to himself wasn't healthy. He realizes that he needs to go through the pain and tears to heal, if not he's gonna end up toxic like his ex. I'm so proud of him, I think we all are. It's a 10 for me! My favorite keeps changing. Β Lyrically Hate You stays in the top 2. I agree with AJJ, but I don't skip 3D I just choose not to hear the feature. Yes, with Blaze, Somebody and Closer could definitely kill on radio. On a side note: That cackle from Mika during Too Sad to Dance was priceless!!

Bklyngirl913

I am not sure about the butter reference - you may be right! But I did of course catch DNA and the black wings from black swan. Someone else pointed out to me that when he sings 'standing in the fire next to you' right as he sings that he does the choreo from BTS's Fire. Also the bit in the second half when the dancers all lie on the floor and then reach up with JK standing in the middle reminds me of another BTS choreo from one of their older songs but I can't for the life of me remember which one and it's bee bugging me for days! I think it was Namjoon standing in the middle with the rest of them on the floor - maybe they revisited it during festa this year?! πŸ˜…

Katie

One thing I love is that the members love each other and army just the same. So many BTS songs that are songs they are singing to us could also be them singing to each other- it's like Yoongi said on Suchwita we're more like partners - army is the 8th member of BTS. I thought the exact same thing with Jimin's song letter on face - before he called it 'dear army' a friend and I were discussing if we thought it was addressed to army or the other members.

Katie

Love Mika in the background laughing throughout the whole album review. My favs are standing next to you, Somebody and Shot glass of Tears.

Love your reaction- love how much you guys get into and feel the music. I wrote down my thoughts as I was watching your reactions so sorry for the long post! I think it took me a couple of listens to get into certain songs like closer to you and Please don't change as it's not a genre I generally listen to- te more club beat songs, but the more I listened they grew on me a lot and your thoughts helped me understand the lyrics more so thank you! Standing Next to you in an absolute masterpiece- I am OBSESSED with this song. 😍 Every time I listen to it a new part of it becomes me favourite, I've been thinking a lot about the 'take-take-take off' part. I think I love it because it feels like it's building into something with the flow of the music but it also sounds like tick tick like a bomb about to go off and it makes me think like he is about to explode with passion for this person he loves, he can't contain his feelings they're just exploding out of him (hope that made sense) I also loved your shout out to John I also follow him on patreon and loved his Golden album review too. Hate you is so heart-breakingly beautiful, it makes me cry JK's voice is just so full of emotion, I love love the way he sings microscope. You guys summed up perfectly how I felt listening to somebody for the first time I also thought it was a feature πŸ˜† I also get a sense of satisfaction listening to this song i love it the same way I do with You Oughta Know by Alanis Morrisette or How Come you're not here by Pink - it's that anger/resentment and I also love lyrically how it brings it back to the beginning of the album/relationship with Seven 'find someone to ride/it's the way that you could ride'. Too Sad to dance really clicked for me when I heard JK singing along to it on his live stream and now I love it. Shot glass of tears, I wasn't sure I was going to like when I heard the tiny snippet in the preview but when I listened to the whole album in order by the time it got to that song it hit different and I felt it. Lastly I love how they put the clean version of Seven at the end as I think the album needs it to bring the mood back up so it doesn't end on such a sad note, by the time it ends you're ready to start the album again - and lyrically it feels like to me JK is ready to love again. Truly this was a golden album. I don't rate things out of 10 because I hate numbers, but my favourites were Standing Next to you and Hate you. I don't skip 3D but I listen to the alternate version. I totally agree with Blaze Somebody is better than Seven and 3D for me too. Also agree with what you said Nico about Yes or No, I wasn't grabbed by it at first either. With regards to another single I think it will be Yes or No or Too Sad to Dance becuase they are super catchy.

Katie

I went back to watch the rest of the album reviews for their solo drops; I think it was either Nico or Blaze that said Hobi set the bar real high and the rest of them were gonna be like 'ok bet' and they have. Every single album from them is in fact so far above excellence ✨️

Nesha Carroll

Yeah I feel like Please Dont Change is JKs way of askjng Army to wait while BTS completes their military service. Even though he'll be away. . . He'll still be the same.

Sydnie Miller

Standing Next to You is a masterpiece on another level. I also love Shot Glass Full of Tears and Somebody! The album is really solid. JK is really staking a claim to being the next king of pop!!!

Melissa Sims

Same!!!

Great reaction video. You guys keep it real and honest about how you feel about the songs. Much Love Watcher Fam πŸ’œ

In my opinion LEFT AND RIGHT is a reference to butter cause when he sang that part there was butter choreo at the exact moment if I’m not mistaken. Cause many was BTS reference related so I don’t believe it’ll be a song reference outside of BTS

Deejay

Whole album is πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯, but I am such a Somebody enthusiast!!! I felt Blaze's passion about it to my core 🀣🀣🀣

πŸ‘€NIBLAJJ!!! 😁 JK GOLDEN πŸ‘ FULLπŸ‘ ALBUMπŸ‘ Review... πŸ€“ COME ON!!! Closer to You... gimme dem πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ in da club vibes with a Caribbean/Latin feel. 🀭Nico busting out The Eros πŸ“– again. Standing Next to You... I'm still DED! I have not recovered and sure if I will. πŸ˜† Shout Out to John Reeves for catching that snippet. Yes or No... gave me Ed Sheeran/early 2000s vibes. This is a nice πŸš™ cruise song. Please Don't Change... another πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ in da club vibes with EDM/Caribbean feels. Hate You... πŸ’” song... 😒 curled up and staring out the window or at the ceiling. Somebody... 🀷JK going through the stages of grief. Too Sad to Dance... another Ed Sheeran/early 2000s vibes. Don't wait by the ☎ JK. Shot Glass Full of Tears... deep feels 😩😒. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£AJJ I can do what I want. Imma rate the album without 3D. So it's a 10. 😁 Making Eunnie Makarra proud. AJJ undecided about favorite song. I support AJJ being #TeamChaos. Blaze 9.9/10 Closer to You and Somebody πŸ‘€ shoulda been singles? Nico 9.5/10. No to Jack Harlow on 3D. Standing Next to You.

Hey, I just want to say this and keep it real. This album is an 11/10 for me, and here's why. I love 3D even with Jack Harlow in it because Jungkook asks him to be on this song because he really likes Jack and I respect his decision. I think if Jack wasn't on this it wouldn't be like what Jungkook wanted it to be. I admit Jack's part is a lot to digest but it is the sound and vision Jungkook was looking for and he knew most people wouldn't like Jack that's why he made 2 versions. I listen to 3D with Jack's part more than the other one because it is Jungkook vision and I'm supporting Jungkook, not Jack that's how I look at it and I want Jungkook to get all the credit he deserves. If you watch Boracity magazine channel on YouTube you will see why it's very important to not skip a song. This album is Jungkook vision and he recommended listening to the album from 1 to the end because he wants Army and the fans to get the story he is trying to tell and every since this album came out that's how I have been listening to it because to me this album is a no skip album. It's that good. Every song on this album was picked by Jungkook. The song "Please Don't Change" is for Army. He said he wanted us to stay by their side and wait for them and asked us to please don't change our mind about them since they have been away. That's why I rated this album so high. He worked so hard on this album for his fans and Army because he said he knew that Army was waiting and he wanted to put out a good vibe album. This album showcases his talents so well. All the songs are my favorite because all the songs have every mood you go through. If you want to dance and have fun then listen to 3D. (either version). Standing Next to You, Please Don't Change, Yes or No, and Seven. If you are going through something with someone listen to Somebody, Hate You, Too Sad To Dance, and Shot Glass. If you have a crush listen to Closer to you. This album has you covered. This album is the best album of 2023 in my opinion.

PurpleKitty_BTS

Actually not standing next to you but please dont change about army that’s what dj snake said😊great album and great reaction!!

Aley

πŸ’― My #1 and #2 are the same and add Shot Glass Full of Tears as my #3. But really I've been streaming the full album daily!

abs802

Hey FAM! I loved this! I have to say that if THIS album doesn't win EVERY award that comes up this year then it's proof its rigged! I agreed with everything you all said and even said the same exact things. When standing next to you came out I heard the regulators tune and was like WHAT! I give the album a 10 because it's not clear if JK got to pick JH to be on 3D or was just told and went with it.. JH does not taint the album for me at all.. i just skip and move on. My favorite song are ALL of them but I would have to say in order 1. Is YES or No 2. Shot glass of tears 3. Standing next to you 4. All the rest of the songs.

Melissa BoraHoneyBee

I give it a 9.5 for the same reason-Jack's verse on 3D, but for top picks, I have to lean towards SNTY for #1 on the album, but then SOMEBODY slams into 2nd for me! I just LOVE that song!!!

Kim Myers

Agreed!

WhatchaGot2Say

Jung Kook did say in an interview that the lyrics are not autobiographical and to not read too much into it. I take it more as love being the universal language of pop music. And with that they did a really good job of creating a story arc. Kinda like a movie script. With that said I do miss something more personal like My Time. That’s still my favorite song of his.

Sesilie

Really enjoyed the reaction guys, and again I’m so grateful for your honest reactions! The lyrics in Standing Next to You can also be interpreted as him speaking to his BTS brothers as well. My favorite is Shot Glass of Tears even though it’s sad. It’s just beautiful. Thanks again for a great review! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œ

I'm speaking the same way off camera about this subject FAM so I feel you 100 on this!

I will run up on BB, Grammys, etc if they pull that goofy ass shit trying to say his album is KPop. No motherfucker. If a white person was singing it would be Pop. So give my guy his flowers. Sorry for my language. But the xenophobia and blatant sabotage just to soothe the Western ego is getting BEYOND ridiculous.

Amber Espinoza

Hate You is my favorite song on the album. I feel the emotions he’s trying to convey and see the story he’s painting in my mind. The fact that every song is SOOOOO different from the last is beautiful. From the delivery to the genre to the beats, etc. But he’s still sticking to the story he wants to convey to us. And it’s not even like he’s repeating the same sentiment over and over again. He’s literally singing as if the songs happen over a period of time while being organic to the way a relationship occur. And like Nico said some of the songs have a double meaning. To me the whole album leans towards a romantic relationship when listened to in its entirety, but there are those songs that make it seem like he’s singing about the relationship he has with ARMY, which is amazing to me. It’s like he’s addressing some of the things that have been happening in the fandom without being in your face about it. Talk about over delivering for your fans. Golden is truly GOLDEN.

hate you, Nick pick things (under the microscope)
