The lyrics are great and the mv is brilliant and must’ve been fun and a bit uncomfortable to shoot with all that water. I was biting my fingernails when they were trapped by the water rising up to the ceiling. Only JK could do a scene where he’s in a coffin with the lid down to start with and that bit where he’s on the board? flying high over the city is one I’m sure he would’ve happily shot in real life but obviously it is CGI. ARMYs hearts would not have survived him really doing that. I’m not sure about the funeral scene and, although Latto’s rap is good, I don’t think it adds to the song. I’m surprised they brought another artist in to collab on his first solo. She could’ve been brought in for the explicit version only. I agree that it has Hope World vibes.

When you hear what HE SAID in the explicit version, her rap will fit even more. (Frankly, the song and the MV need her rap. Otherwise, the MV risks coming across as stalkerish/aggressive vs balanced/mutual.) You are going to lose it. I screamed, laughed, danced, and sang just from the surprise. JK lettin’ us know he’s fully grown. Jaaaaaykaaaaaay!!

For example he could have rapped a verse himself in the song and that would have been fire 😁I even made mention of this in our reaction to the GMA performance(coming soon) - so it’s so funny to see that you basically said the same thing as I did. But I do see the value in bringing in a female’s perspective in a song like this because of what the song is about and I think Latto definitely stepped up to the plate and did very well.

Maybe if they did epic bridge or did breakdance or have JK rap that would work too. And honestly, I feel like the feature was done to make the song even more "western" and have american audience listen to it.
