I've probably said it before but because of events coming up in series 4 of doctor who it is very probably best you watch the classic adventure genesis of the daleks so certain events make sense and possibly even revelation of the daleks. Also you heard the name sontarns in this series of Sarah Jane adventures, given the events of series 2 it may also be best to see her first ever doctor who adventure the time warrior, you could also watch the sontaran experiment for more continuity and the events takes place right before genesis of the daleks but that one might not be essential.
