RM & Pharrell Rolling Stone Interview {Exclusive Reaction}

Blaze and I were extremely excited to hear that RM and Pharrell are collaborating. We decided to film our reaction to their Rolling Stone interview and boy did we have a lot to say. We do hope that you enjoy this reaction FAM 🤓

Side note: We will be resuming our reactions to Break the Silence sometime next week. We had to take a break from that to make time for this and it was well worth it in our opinion 😁

RM & Pharrell Rolling Stone Interview {Exclusive Reaction}

Comments

I love the way Pharell sits, he was on the edge of his sit as if he was really into the depths of their conversation. He genuinely shows his interest and shares his amazement with Namjoon's questions. This is such a beautiful interaction between two artists.

no worries, the planet has kim namjoon

The interview was awesome and insightful. I loved it and loved to hear your take on everything they said Fam. Indigo is coming, teaser dropped today, and I am hyped for it. Can't wait.

Debra West

Agree with the final words, agree with the comments here, definitely listen to the podcast - Spoiler >> Pharrell and the last 10% of RM Album ;)

Mélanie Hellébore

35:22 - haven't finish yet but i've to say that whatching you and blaze loosing it at every sentence is really entertaining xD

Mélanie Hellébore

I also watched this video only a few hours after it dropped and I don't mind watching it over and over, especially with your reactions. This almost feels like a "60 Minutes" type of interview because of the insightful questions Namjoon and Pharrell had for each other. For sure, they are not the canned questions typical journalists have for artists. The earnestness, curiosity and humility of Namjoon truly shines in this interview and Pharrell acknowledging and responding to that is a joy to see. And kudos to Pharrell as well because he does not have the "airs" of a superstar in this interview; he was just an artist. I wish for a lot more people to see and respond to this interview.

Keren Metz

No problem! I hope you enjoy 🥰

Thea

Thanks D'Alice Craig and Thea for the advice. I read the interview and assumed the podcast was the same. I'll go check that out now.

I agree Jenn b, this was so important for RM to hear, that his love for and need to create music won't change. As in any relationship that you hold deeply there are ebbs and flows to how you move within it. BTS the team has been steadily driving upwards for 10+ years, at a rate that I think would be hard for anyone to maintain. So being tired and being a little burned out makes sense. RM has heard from Pharrell that what he might be feeling about this complicated and vital part of his life, (music) is temporary.

Rissy

I watched the interview when it first dropped and wanted to let it marinate before watching y'alls opinions on it. I love that it was two artists having a conversation like equals; trading off honest experiences. It was nice to see the little notes, particularly at the start where Namjoon's nerves were coming through, because it shows that authentic admiration he has for the man in front of him. Obviously as an ARMY it was good to see Joon be so honest about his struggles as an artist right now, but it was also great to see Pharrel give advice and reassurance. One thing BTS don't seem to have a lot of is seniors in the industry who are willing to support them and guide them but we're starting to see more of it with relationships like this, and with coldplay, and charlie puth etc. I think it will help them as they continue to navigate beyond that kpop category and the limits of that categorisation.

Flossy

Loved the Reaction. Could you please react to 'When you leave jungkook alone'

Aly

VioletRaven

I was really looking forward to your reaction to this video. You all are constantly intrigued at the same points that I was. This has to be the most raw, pure and authentic video that I’ve seen in a long time. I was just so happy to see how excited you were during this interview.

Precious Lafleur

Yes, I agree Maria, there are some juicy bits in there ; >

Saphy

Hi! I was hoping you'd share with us your reaction to this interview, so glad you did! Your comments were awesome too 😁 be sure to check out the podcast and article version of this interview as well, there are some extra bits in those which are great! I wish Rolling Stone uploaded the full uncut interview but oh well, can't do much about it 😅 Anyway, I absolutely loved this interview as well and can't wait to listen to their collabs 😍 until next time! L💜

Maria A. Flori

If you guys have a chance, would you like to react to RM's Korean cover of Take it Off😂 It's called 'Expensive Girl'

Valerie Ong

I love seeing Blaze get hype about this interview, being he's also a musician himself.

Madison

When you guys get a chance, please listen to the podcast version as well! It’s a little bit longer and I would say the complete version of this interview bc there’s a few other things they talk about on there that’s not in the article or the video ☺️💜

Thea

That is a FANTASTIC question to ask him, I'm extremely curious myself now that you as a language learner mentioned it. It'd sure beat the usual boring ol ones 💜

D'Alice Craig

Nico. Blaze. This reaction is exactly the reason why I'm a fan, a patron and a life long supporter of you. Everything the 4 guys I just watched on screen was exquisite - y'all vibe on some of the same levels: respect, humility, humbleness, truth, love and most of all MUSIC. It's a joy to watch the types of things with you and hear your thoughts...I was smiling nodding laughing and even getting a little choked up here and there bc you had the exact same ideas ans Epiphany as I did when I watched, and like everyone has said, the music is why we are here! I'd say the reason why I myself am so thrilled for this collab is that it feels natural. While good intentions may have been at the beginning of some collabs - they can feel forced, even some of my favorite ones, but this one is going to be a true meeting of the minds. I pray to the core that they've got a camera running to capture that magic so we might get even a glimpse. The fact that RM is now ACTUALLY being mentored by those he's looked up to and have inspired him - when they say the best is yet to come, that is no LIE, and what's excitingly scary is we have NO IDEA what's gonna happen. Pharrell too, his openness will allow him to discover more and expand his own musical career and make him an even better producer. Win wins alllll over the place! If you get a chance, there an accompanying podcast as well as written article, but that's mostly a transcript. Some information overlaps, but I would say check out the podcast now that you've seen the video. It will further enrich the amazingness that truly was this interview. Thank you for your hard work and truly - your content here is why I celebrate y'all and everything you do so so very much L💜

D'Alice Craig

Phenomenal 2-way interview! I was excited to see your reaction as I knew it was going to make you giddy as school girls to hear the amazing things they had to say! You guys better double up on the soul catchers before their song drops!!

7ShadesOfPurple

In the part that wasn't included in this interview ( Rolling Stone had it online) where Pharrell asked RM about his solo album being 90% done and wanting to work with him on it was so awesome, and as this took place in Sept. I am so glad they've worked together (aside from the song BTS did with Pharrell on his upcoming "Phriends," album), further deepening this friendship bond. RM has had no mentor to learn from, being the "leader" as it were, so I pray this will help him and he can continue to explore and learn from this relationship. Sadly, his military time will come soon after this, but perhaps that too will be of benefit to RM (and all of the members)...that stand back and analyze, as it were. This was just such an impressive interview and I could have listened to them talk forever. Loved your reaction guys!

Kim Myers

RM is the Proof. Thanks Watcher Fam!!!!!

CRD_

I've learned several languages and gotta say it's impressive tt RM can do an entire interview in his non-native tongue. I know everyone learns a little differently but I'd be curious to ask if he has any learning strategies cuz it's clearly working for him.

m

i really liked the part that was in the written interview. Namjoon mentioned the fear of falling out of love with music over time etc and pharrell reassured him that it passes. I was so glad he could hear that from someone like him I hope it gives him comfort

Jenn

So happy to see you guys react to this interview. It was so insightful and authentic, even those on set have said as much. Like Jin says, my shoulders are sky high right now. My bias has many sides to his music and sexy is definitely a large one lol! I'm having a lot of fun watching Blaze ascend to the outer atmosphere when we get a new nugget from this two amazing talents. And Pharrel's vocab is one that will even give you, Nico a run for your money lol! Like this man did his homework when it came to Namjoon. And I love it! I'm so glas tha Jin had Chris Martin and now Namjoon has Pharrel because mentors are so important espcially for people who are such trailblazers like BTS. On twitter we have been having discussions on what it is the difference between group and team as well. I have legit gone through all 3 versions of this interview mulitple times and it has not gotten old.

Rae Avilez

This is the type of advice bts needs, from REAL Artists ! I am so happy we are getting a collab

laura

I am not surprised RM has a "Take it off" Playlist. This is the same man that wrote parts in "Like", "Miss Right" , "Expensive Girl", "Converse High" and "Dimple"! Besides that! This is one of the best interviews. You can see the respect they have for each other and I wish to thank them for being so comfortable to letting us into their personal thoughts.

Jessica Diane

Like BTS says our shoulders are up in the sky we are so proud and happy! My bias has many sides to his music and sexy is definitely one of them lol! I really enjoyed watching Blaze physically react as he ascended due to the truth that was being spoken by these two huge talents.

Rae Avilez

Blaze, the part about Joon's dimples...🤣 . I seriously love interviews where artists interview artists, whether musician to musician, or actor to actor.

EKMontie

so proud and extremely excited for Namjoon. He deserves to be heard and respected by many... and this is a great great step😭

laura

I love how Blaze fires up when true spoken facts as a respectable artists is addressed. You could tell how much they respect each other's artistic crafts. This interview was so good. I hope to see more with the other BTS members as well.

Delilah Rivera

ARMY be like: IT'S EXPENSIVE GIRL

Ella loves Seokjinnie

🤓COME ON!! 🥰So glad RM had this Talk/Interview with Pharrell. ☑RM successful Fan Boy. 🤭Fam you should have the soul catchers on the table. 😃 YAS!! Can't wait for Phriends with BTS & RM x Pharrell.

happles

Being a RM bias. I was literally excited about this interview and collaboration on music being announced. I think this was a much needed conversation for Namjoon. Hearing wisdom from one of his idols. Meant a lot to him. This interview we were able to see Kim Namjoon rather than RM who we all love deeply. I notice when he was talking about the topic of them stepping away to find themselves. Namjoon close to saying tired. But, he corrected himself. Me and Namjoon are close in age. So hearing how from him how one song opened a door for him in music. I really appreciate him. I appreciate each and every one of member deeply. They speak highly of us. Because they care to put everything out on the stage just to make a great life changing experience for us Army’s

Raven Jenkins

This is so funny!🤣 Why did I think you had heard that cover of Namjoon? Be warned, I have it on my playlist called "dirty BTS songs." I'll leave you a link with lyrics.😁 RM - Expensive Girl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbyOHbpoAJo

I was waiting for this reaction because I knew if anyone was going to appreciate the importance and epic of an interview it would are you guys! Two amazing talented artist like RM and Pharrell interviewing each other is simply a blessing to see.💜💜

Tanya perez

THE LIL PARTS of discussion where y'all took the time to express your thoughts? Loved that. More of that.Blaze feeling every second of this conversation as a musician himself and giving his insight was so nice to see and hear. Thankyou so much for another great reaction! It was wonderful for Joon and Pharrell we're taking this conversation seriously and both listening to each other. I think Joon really needed that guidance and advice from someone who has been in the industry for so long and who has made an imprint on it. I agree with u Nico a super introducer will extract the parts of yourself that were unopened and explore different limitations.
