Just old boys doing what they did when they were young boys.

2022-08-07 22:45:11 +0000 UTCYour right those first few seasons were very relaxing, it does change, as that style wouldnβt have lasted for thirty years.

2022-07-26 22:47:13 +0000 UTCThe first couple of seasons, with Blamire, were more philosophical; three old guys talking about life and how the world was and used to be. When he left and Foggy arrived, it became more of a slapstick 'old geezers getting into trouble' type show, which is what it was for the bulk of its run. As the main three all got older, more and more side characters were introduced and it became a much more ensemble show; the main trio at the end basically sat at home (they were all in their 80s and 90s) and top and tailed the show while the rest of the cast (only in their 60s and 70s) got up to stuff.

2022-07-26 07:17:35 +0000 UTCA little bit of trivia regarding the episode Inventor of the Forty Foot Ferret. When Compo runs away from the church and through the churchyard, he runs right past the spot where both Bill Owen and Peter Sallis are now buried.

2022-07-20 23:43:19 +0000 UTCI hope you're able to react to some of the later episodes, as these earlier episodes lack many of the great characters compared to when the show was at its peak for the Michael Aldridge and second Foggy eras! Plus I am obsessed with Howard and Marina who only feature from this period onwards! You also have the "ladies" sometimes known as the Battleaxes!, Eli and Wesley who used to invent various machines that Compo would inadvertently test out! The early episodes lack these characters....heres hoping for some future reactions!

2022-07-09 21:12:30 +0000 UTCI know the town where this is set very well, beautiful place and ridiculously expensive houses...very different kinda vibe from when the show was running.

2022-07-09 00:02:32 +0000 UTCThree old men with nothing to do, and all day to do it in. Thatβs basically the plot in these earlier episodes.

2022-07-08 22:45:18 +0000 UTCNoah I'm going to make this really simple for you. There is NO plot to this show. It's just 3 old men doing thing's. Having said that one thing that was important was the men had to be both retired/not working and divorced/widowed/unmarried.

2022-07-08 17:03:33 +0000 UTCPeter sallis (who played cleggy) was the only character to be in every single 295 episodes
