For me 1Verse for Hobi is like Joon's Joke and Yoongi's Agust D. They were call backs to haters saying they couldn't rap by literally rapping in as many ways as they could fit in a song. Switching their flows ever other line just to show how many ways they could do it while dissing the haters at the same time.

i think my favourite part of 1verse besides just the amazing lyrics and sound as a whole is all the sound effects/adlibs. "i make all my haters throw up BLEHHHH" *slurping* "i spit it out *hacking up phlegm noises*" there's just so much attitude but it's still really him lol and it adds a lot to the song

here are some tips: - if you're ever confused or just not 100% feeling a certain lyric check out the song on doolsetbangtan's site and it will almost certainly be explained there - speaking of that, that's how i learned the meaning of the line [paraphrased] where he says that he's a watermelon that everyone licks. it means that people only have a surface level of understanding of him, that they stop at the green skin unwilling to dig in to get to the delicious fruit inside. it's a korean idiom but just hearing it in english it also makes sense when you think about it - the FIRE beat that j-hope sampled for 1verse is "el chapo" by skrillex and the game. an EXCELLENT choice for this kind of "alright shut up haters" type of diss track imo

This was as satisfying as I expected it to be! As a J-hope bias that discovered BTS in October, Hope World was the second thing after MOTS:7 that I purchased. It still is my favorite go to for difficult mornings and driving home after a long day at work. When I first starting watching your wonderful videos, I was surprised you hadn't done 1verse! Since you both clearly appreciate Hobi. But the wait was worth it! I loved the whole video, it really made my day. And I love love love how you had to stop and rewind just to jam to 1verse. I feel like I did the same thing when I first heard it, haha, really didn't expect it to go so hard. But J-hope is truly an versatile king.

I read it. Where’s my cookie lol. But seriously, I too find myself rotating between the solo projects non stop. And the one that I listen to repeatedly depends on my current mood or what I feel I need. Out of all of them I’ve listened to Mono the most. For me, it’s been the most therapeutic. But that’s mainly because of where I’ve been in my own head space that kept drawing me to it. But I went through a period where all I listened to was D-2....especially when it first came out. And as for Hope World...I find that I go to this album mostly when big issues first occur that tend to lower my spirits initially. It helps to lift my spirits fairly quickly so that I can press forward. The most recent would be when we were without power and water for a few days due to the winter weather.

Since "Hope World" release up until the pandemic started and I stopped working, I'd listen to "Hope World" every morning while getting ready (and "mono" every night after it's release), to put me in a positive mindset for the stress of the day. It helped SO much. Then in the car after I'd parked I'd listen to "P.O.P." one more time before going into work. I've started listening to it daily again since right before his birthday. I had moreso focused on "MOTS:7" & "D-2" last year & "BE" this year, but "BE" also kinda made me go back to regularly listening to "Hope World". I mean I really needed AgustD's help last year, to fight through some crap I was dealing with that I needed validation of how angry & melancholic I was feeling, mixed with working through it & letting it all go.. but I'm back to Hobi vibes now. I love all their mixtapes so much. I still listen to "mono" often before I go to bed as well. As much as I adore nearly everything they all touch, I think the last couple years I've listened to their solo music more than BTS releases. (still do my streaming though) All that said, my fave J-Hope songs are "P.O.P.", "1Verse", and "Trivia: Just Dance". If anyone read my whole essay, you deserve a cookie 😉😘

First two songs, Hope World and Piece of Peace, are like an introduction to J-Hope and everything he stands for. Daydream is so beautiful to see but the lyrics are about an escape for him to be in his own mind. J-Hope has many songs that are bright and happy but the lyrics are very deep with great meaning. Baseline and Hangsang is basically all about bts and jhope and just his journey and their journey throughout the years with their artist life. Airplane is about his own journey and about his young self seeing how far he has come to even be able to travel on an airplane and experience everything as someone successful. Blue side can basically be about J-Hope's different side. It can be any side of his but that is the overall sense. This is just from the overall meaning cause there are always deeper meanings to any song they make and I just love all the deep meanings cause it makes us enjoy it even more.
