{Early Release} BTS - BLUE & GREY - REACTION (Song and Lyrics Review)

Comments

Hey sorry I'm just seeing this. No, we don't have any further lyric reviews planned for songs from the BE album. However, we do have a lyric review of Dis Ease that we filmed about a month ago that will be released in the near future here on Patreon.

WhatchaGot2Say

Will you be doing more lyric reactions/review to other Songs from the BE album ?

sleepy

I would like to see that as well 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

Same here. This pandemic has forced me to become stationary both physically and mentally which in turn has caused me to face some of the issues I have been suppressing or running away from.

WhatchaGot2Say

Love love love what you are saying Nico. I'm the same way regarding sadness and depression. I try to push it away and be cheerful. Only lately during this pandemic, have I been trying to tell myself it's okay to be sad or mad before you try to analyze the feelings and fix them. Let yourself feel first.

For me, I was instantly moved by the beauty of the music itself from the beginning of listening to this song, and then when the guys started singing and rapping I was close to tears without even knowing the lyrics. When I read the lyrics while listening to the song, it felt so sad, beautiful and hopeful to me. I am touched and moved every time I hear this song. This song will always have a special place in my heart. As always, your reactions are so heartfelt and genuine, thank you for sharing with us.

heavenlyonesbts

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this piece. When I first heard it, I could feel the weight behind the music and the lyrics. Message I hear: "It's okay to not be okay." Know that better days are coming 'cause "trouble don't last always!"

LibLady26

Lol that’s Brody for ya. Always keeps us guessing 🤓

WhatchaGot2Say

And thank you for your analysis FAM. I truly appreciated reading your thoughts just now. So good 🤓💜

A great reaction like always. I really enjoy the breakdown on mental health. The boys actually decided that they enjoyed the song and asked for V to add it to the album so he quickly had to translate it to korean since he originally had the song in english (from the BE comeback live). This song actually hits a lot harder when you read his weverse magazine interview talking about his depression and how he wrote this song. Its a great read!

Annette

Thank you for choosing such a good Lyric video with good translation. I appreciate your sincere reaction to the song and the lyric. (one of the reason why I love you guys reaction videos and follow your journey! ) I can't wait other song's review cuz I know you will love it!

I remember listening to this and crying cause the feeling of the song is just so raw. I had no idea what they were talking about. But once I read the lyrics I was in love 💜 Doesn’t this make you wonder what V’s original verses were? Because rap line wrote their own. I really hope he still puts this on his mixtape with his full version.

The last verse when Tae mentioned "I fall asleep at dawn" brings back to the times where Tae was awake in the wee hours talking to Army in Weverse for a period of time - just drawing out some references here. I agree this song is something we all can relate to whenever we go thru that "it" moment..

I am literally bursting with so much pride for our Boyz, they are literally the best thing that has happened in my life, besides Jesus! I really appreciate how open & candid they are! They leave everything out on the table, & there is something for everyone in this heartfelt Album! It breaks my heart that V went thru so much, but I’m so happy that he can find healing in sharing it with his Army family! This song touches you in the deepest pit of your soul! Its a journey of emotions listening to this beautiful song! I know what you mean when you say there were times you had no words 😶 I purple you 😭😭 💜💜

Tae said he has trouble falling asleep and stays up until dawn because he thinks a lot.. that’s what he meant in the last part and it’s so relatable 😭

I love how each of the rap line has their own way of describing how they feel blue and grey... they each describe it in very different but equally meaningful ways. What I get from Yoongi is that he has long experienced depression/anxiety, has always questioned it, but has accepted that it’s going to be a lifelong road and struggle... what I get from Hobi is that he’s describing how it’s unfamiliar and unnatural for him, but it’s become something he’s had to face head on yet he’s become numb....and what I get from Namjoon is that he feels more comfortable feeling these things because it’s so natural to him, and he raises a toast to all of us who are like him (which I deeply admire). This song is an absolute masterpiece in every way, I’m so touched and proud and feel less alone in this world because of it. Thanks for another amazing reaction/analysis, you guys are the best! 💜

I felt that it was beautiful and symbolic that Tae put the song on BE rather than his mixtape. Because that means he had to open up to the other members about his depression and struggles, and they in turn helped him fill in the pieces that he couldn’t express. Yoongi tackled “Blue” in the beginning and I think that was huge in of itself because he’s also battled with depression. And then Jhope and RM expressed what “Grey” meant to them later on. And then vocal line’s harmonies....just touched my soul. This felt like Tae was lonely reaching out for help, and I just felt like everyone answered the call and did an amazing job supporting him with their own perspectives. I’m glad he didn’t sing this alone🤧

V wrote this song to address his own depression. He said in an interview that he wrote this in the lowest point in his life where he couldn't be sure if he could keep going. He wanted us to listen to this and get the message that if we're feeling the same, he's not sharing it with us as someone above us, but someone who's also having these dark thoughts, these struggles, so let's talk about this thing and deal with it together. V's such a gentle, gentle soul I love him for that

Amy Lin

That’s what I got from that part as well. For me I’m either overthinking or crying on super bad nights then I’m exhausted as the sun is coming up and finally go to sleep.

Shalyn M

Bts is literally the best thing to ever happen to me..... I can’t imagine not finding out about them and I feel sorry for people who don’t now about them who needs to. They always know the right things to say and this album really has been getting me through this lockdown these last couple of days. There will never be group like Bts because they’re a once and a lifetime 💜

J.N

The end part where he says as I fall asleep at dawn hits me so hard... bcz I tend to overthink at night and toss turn and by the time I sleep it’s early morning.. this song hits me so hard

taesthetic_mots

This song describes what I have felt everyday of my life. It’s been getting me through this week. It’s strange how it’s sad and comforting at the same time.

I thought the white patch on Brody's chest was a third leg and it took me a sec to understand what I was seeing.
