UNCUT REACTION to BTS 'SEA' (Song and Lyrics Review)

This is something special FAM...Today we react to BTS SEA - the Elusive Hidden Track!

This is the unedited reaction. I am still working on getting a more trimmed down version of this video published on YouTube as the original was blocked worldwide.

Thank you for suggesting this song to us FAM 😁

UNCUT REACTION to BTS 'SEA' (Song and Lyrics Review)

Comments

This is one of my top favorite song from them and the song I would listen to when I feel down, its like they understand struggle and fear in humans and acknowledge them that its okay, that sometimes we dont need "toxic positivity" saying its alright its gonna be okay, sometimes we need to be acknowledged that we are struggling and yes it will pass eventually. Gosh, I never thought that and Idol group can create messages this deep thats why I'm so in live with them right now, because more than just visuals and theatrical, their music really touches you.

They debuted on stage with filming on TV due to the fact that one artist did not arrive, but even so, their time was shortened. In the song they sang that someone's unoccupied place is their dream

I'm so excited you posted the unedited version here and have it available for all tiers. I always want to see the one you post on youtube that (unfortunately) get blocked in it's original state but can't afford a higher tier so thank you!

Hey guys! Thanks for reacting to this song! It is one of my favorite songs by BTS and I think if I remember correctly, Suga and Jhope wrote most of the song and Suga was the producer. When I first heard this song (I think it was a hidden track on one of their albums, can't recall which one because it's been awhile) it brought me to literal tears. When I read the lyrics, I understood why. Anyway! Keep doing what you are doing! I am looking forward to your other reactions!

I am happy you guys reacted to this and got to hear it. The meaning and realness of this song, like you guys were saying they do not lie. They were sharing their story, their hardships with ARMY, with everyone. This is a very emotional song and I like how you guys broke it down and appreciated it. <3 Thank you!

Brittany

Thank you for this beautiful reaction. I always cry when listening to this song. Many already said much of what I was thinking whilst watching, but I wanted to point something out. Remember their promotion pics for the MOTS Tour? They stood on β€œwater” in them. The MOTS: ON:E concert had them in the β€œdesert”. I remember looking at those photos when they first dropped and crying because this whole situation had become another desert for them and all of us. It’s more ocean again, but, dang...my heart. Hope you all are well! πŸ’œ

I'm so happy you guys finally reacted to this song. In my opinion, this is one of the most underrated BTS song there is and it's one of my favorites. I love the way the actual rhythm of the song reminds me of an endless ocean with the waves continually coming into shore. The rhythm is so vast and endless and the lyrics are so deep and fathomless. Masterpiece!

heavenlyonesbts

Yeah...this one hits hard and deep...

I hear you. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I've been listening to it extensively ever since we filmed this reaction video. Last night when I listened to it - I felt a calm come over me. A reassurance that everything will be okay. It was refreshing and needed.

WhatchaGot2Say

this song is as beautiful as it is overwhelming for me I dont listen to it unless im in a place and time I can really hear it and feel it

I had not heard this song before, and I was moved to tears. I remembered all the struggles they have gone through--7 in one room, for example. But I also thought about this--the sea and the desert are not static--they move! On the surface things may seem calm, but stuff is going underneath. Movement provides for growth to take place. Waves move you forward. Shifting sand makes you move--either forward, backward, or even sideways. You will endure. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Excellent point FAM and so so true

I love this song so much. It makes sense for their story, but it’s also just so so real for everyone (like always with BTS πŸ˜†). It’s a good reminder - not only that hard times are normal on the road to our goals, but that it’s important to remember where you came from and be thankful for where you are in those times where the dessert is an ocean. It just means a lot to me I love this song so so much! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Abby Potter

I had heard that too... this song has RM written all over it. <3

Madpleasure

Namjoon originally wrote this to go on his mixtape but Bang PD told him no and had him make it a group song. He talked about it in his live that he did on the Her album review.

Christina

They hid this song on an album because they felt like only ARMYs could understand why a band as successful as them would have such fears. They can feel the water on their face--they seem to be in that long-sought-after ocean. But they are so afraid that it's a mirage, that's it's not real, that it could all disappear even as they float. Because this was never something they truly truly believed they could achieve. I'm seeing a lot of different interpretations in the comments too--I think that's beautiful. Thank you guys for reacting to this!

I love the metaphor of being stuck between the ocean and desert. Since seawater is not drinkable, you go thirsty even though there's an entire ocean next to you. It literally is a blue desert. It's like the saying, "being stuck between a rock and a hard place." You give up or you endure the struggle. This song literally describes the process of following your dreams, being met with struggles, falling into despair, finding hope, and using it to endure the rest of the struggles of the road ahead. It's the most beautiful way to say even the struggles and despair are part of the journey to your dreams. πŸ’œ

This is one of my top favorite BTS songs of all time! The boys just have this extra special perfect way of expressing things every single one of us has felt before. The analogy of ocean and desert, hope and despair is honestly so far beyond anything I've ever heard or experienced from any other artist (or person period). The ocean is full of salt so you can drink all the ocean water you want but at the end of the day, you'll be even thirstier than before. You can die of thirst and dehydration in the desert, you can also die of thirst and dehydration in the ocean. "Everything is the same thing, with a different name." But the part that really sends a chill up my spine... "It's life again." Love this song and love you guys for reacting to it. Always looking forward to more!

Amina Baines

I love that quote! Thank you for sharing it and your thoughts FAM πŸ’œ

I’m telling you Bts lyrics will always have you fucked up man 🀣 got you questioning everything in your life fr

This is another of my absolute favorite songs. BTS has a way of expressing pain, depression, sadness, all in such beautiful and relate-able ways. "Water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink." - Rime of the Ancient Mariner Sea reminds me of that quote. An ocean, a sea - the water is filled with salt. So, like the lyrics say, you can drink the entire sea, and still be thirsty. You can still die of dehydration. The water in an ocean is a mirage, like any you'd see in your desperation in the desert. And, like the lyrics say, take away that mirage of water, and it's the same thing, with a different name. It's all a desert.

Lux

Thank you so much for this video. Sea is one of my favorite songs.

That part where they had to fill in for another group who couldnt perform became their dream fulfilled really hit me when I first heard this song because thats EXACTLY what happened and the rest is history!πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
