Transparency and Tier Revamp! (text wall warning)

hi again! just a couple more commissions until i’m relatively caught up! first time in 7 months omg yay! with that, i will soon be gradually updating the tiers (still would like to make a better image for my page [something about it bothers me], and the tiers themselves of course).

for a little background on this change, i mentioned earlier that i’ve been tracking my hours spent on this! (started on may 5th, excluding the last week because food poisoning), and so far i’ve been spending an average of 39 hours a week, was expecting 20 or something! internship makes it around 79 hours of being busy a week! ahh! despite that, i wouldn’t consider this work as i do enjoy doing it, and i really have nothing better to do while in the middle of nowhere. however, this does consume a very large portion of my time, so i will be making minor and major adjustments to make things more manageable on my end.

the most significant change that i have mixed feelings about is a dollar increase (of my own currency) to the first 3 tiers. i feel really guilty about charging money for this in the first place since this is AI... and isn’t manual labor on an oil rig, but time is precious, and the cost of living is rising. i’m sorry if this is unreasonable!

the next change to the tiers will have to be reverting commission tiers to about 1.5x of their original amounts before i doubled them and reduced the slots (the higher ones will be relatively unchanged, just standardized slightly). however, i will be removing that odd complex / simple image thing i had and will make the commission be a range instead with different options to choose from (continuation of an existing commission / set, alternates, oc characters, etc.) as i never really followed those amounts i had anyways haha. the simpler the commission to make, the more i will make (or if i really like the concept! this way it’s not unfair to other commissioners or anything of the sorts [in my opinion])

i will be making the changes to the pricing and commission amounts in exactly 1.5 weeks from now, on June 4th, 6-8 PM EST as to not take anyone by surprise.

to address that to-do list i had about a month and a half ago… here are the points that i had, and what i'm currently doing!

• completely revamp the commission system on here and deviantart

  • doing that! however, i will be closing all commission tiers on deviantart and redirecting interest to here, i’d prefer if commissions were all in one place!

  • i will be making a free “commission sheet” with lots of examples to better convey what i can do as well! most likely when i fully clear out due commissions.

• completely revamp my patreon page

  • doing that!

• actually improve the quality of poses, compositions, and overall everything (can focus on improving my workflows and real tests)

  • i’d like to think i’m doing this??

• actually have realistic posts

  • i’m torn on this! 18% of people here entirely prefer the realistic style sets i post, but i don’t post it often (let alone the anime one 😭), that seems unfair! i’m considering a different approach to the realistic style since there is a significant audience. i still have to think about this one, my last idea kind of sucked

• more frequent polls and feedback requests

  • in the discord i fear i saw a tumbleweed fly through. i will make a straw.page and respond to / post my responses / things in the #questions channel, (or on here / twitter if its funny / important)

• actually have a better collections page on patreon haha

  • did this! yay!

• post a lot more, whether its commissions, my own, short pinups, or anything really haha

  • it seems i have the same amount of free time (but a tiny bit more because of the weekends now, if i’m finished up commissions) so i’m not sure if i’ve been posting more! i hope the updated commission model will address this because its easier for me to make many commissions with less compared to a single commission with more

• improve the covers, because right now i feel like i can do better

  • i’ve been messing around with these but i still think i can do a lot better! maybe even introduce a comic-format that’s fully annotated. i’ll make polls!

  • one thing though, i always felt super embarrassed to write more… intense captions... because i know that i wrote it, and other people will as well. maybe depending on how the poll goes i’ll get over that

• realistic videos! a lot of them!

  • YES! a new model for local generations came out (wan 2.1) so i will be messing around with that, it works in the anime style too pretty well i think! can't wait! video covers?? would be fun

i wanted to make this a poll with options like [agree | don't agree] but i'd probably get depressed if it was a landslide for don't agree so i will not be doing that, sorry! i'm very anxious about this post since i don't know how the reception will turn out but yeah i was postponing this for a while
