The Glisterpass

Encrusted with sparkling gannniosite spires, The Glisterpass leads to the cold fortlands of Ba-Na to the northeast of Daklak. At some point in history, this was a well-used passage, but time has removed it's purpose. Now, only mad travellers and restless dead wander here.

Ba-Na's towers are said to be the remnants of an ancient conflict, but none alive know the truth of it. The only ones who may remember are the cyclopean ancients who still dwell in those ragged tower tombs, but they are reluctant to speak on it. Harmless to respectful travellers, they exist now as a vague mockery of the people they once were.

One of the most startling (yet harmless) residents of the Glisterpass are the Glisterbirds- sometimes called "Gigglebirds". Their whining barks resemble the laughter of babies and tends to reverberate off the walls of the pass creating an unsettling effect. They live in rocky burrows among the crystals.

I think i'll just go region by region and flesh it all out like this. At the moment I plan to do 4 pages for each of the 32 areas of the map I posted with far more illustrations than writing. I was at a bookstore just yesterday and looked through a few of the 'educational fantasy' books and noticed a lack of illustrations. I want to make something fun to look at.
