I can imagine having a fanbase like this and having people so vocally upset about creative choices youve made is really a bummer. That being said, I think this probably comes with the territory of getting popular? Almost anyone ever who has done a creative thing and reached a certain level of popularity is going to make divisive choices, and that's okay! This is YOUR tournament and ultimately no matter what you do (especially when you try new stuff) you're gonna get some blowback. Stay true to your creative vision and remember that the majority of the viewers enjoy and appreciate what you do, and the people complaining are without a doubt, a minority.

I hear ya, I can imagine it being difficult to balance what your audience wants and the direction you would like your content to go, especially when paired with the publish or perish nature of YouTube. That being said, you still have to stay passionate about your work or what’s the point?

I'm sorry you feel so bad for the reaction. I understand that when I take a lot of pride in my work it never feels good to miss the mark. But I know that I have made things worse by abandoning my designs entirely to appease others. It betrayed a lack of confidence in my own voice, in my own art.
