Watermaster: A Dwarf Fortress Short Fort

At the base of a mountain far, far away, lives a small clan of dwarves who seek to tame a tiny brook and transform it into a formidable weapon.  Today we'll be playing with Dwarf Fortress waterworks! This is part one of a "short series" and I do not know how long it'll end up being, but here's hoping it won't be too long, heh.

Well, i'd like your feedback, my most bearded of bastards. It did end up being a bit different than usual.

Loving this! That's just the change your channel needed IMHO (and possibly your personal life too :D)

Oh yeah and you don't have to worry as much about getting multiple years of Dwarf Fortress into an episode, I remember back in the Honeystoker days you would go more slow progress wise in an episode and instead look into individual dwarves' lives, it gave the episodes a more cozy feeling and made big events like forgotten beasts and invasions a lot more crazy and tense when they happened. I do miss that pacing and slice of life feel of the older episodes.

I really loved the artwork in this one, have you ever tried oil pastels? I think it would look very good with your artstyle, adding some deep vibrancy to your drawings. In the very least just to experiment with for fun, I'd love to see the results.

I particularly enjoyed the artwork in this one! The Dwarves especially looked like my favorite depiction of the species: stout, with heavy/strong features dominated by beards and prominent noses that project out at the sellion and hook down. I've always preferred the distinctiveness of that style because, like the pointed ears of elves, it immediately sets them apart visually as a unique fantasy species rather than just 'short humans'. The clothes were also rockin! The same goes with the goblins/trolls in this episode. It reminded me a bit of Paul Bonner's artwork in Truvdang, which I love. Really, I enjoy all of your artwork but this style especially tickled me and I just wanted you to know! Terrific content man, I'm glad it was done at a healthier workload! Be good to yourself!

It was really cool when your explained how you appproached the build of this fortress. I know that your videos aren't tutorials but I really hope to see more of that in future episodes.

Love it. Has the same energy as your early work, but with massively improved art :)
