Awhile back, I tried a fortress with the normal number of dwarves, but no equipment. I role-played it as a military squad that quit or were dismissed, so they got drunk and took a wagon to the middle of nowhere. They had an empty barrel and a bunch of cups, but that was it. Fun! (But can wooden axes still be used to chop down trees?)
