Everything I Never Said - The Evolution of Glinda PATRON EXCLUSIVE

Last year, we released Into the Storm: The Evolution of the Wicked Witch—a project that explored decades of interpretations of one of Oz’s most iconic and misunderstood characters. From the beginning, we knew that story wasn’t complete without its counterpart.

This year, we return to Oz with her other half.

From the earliest planning stages, this wasn’t just a nostalgia project—it was a character study. We originally imagined the video taking place in Munchkinland, during Glinda’s brief but meaningful interaction with Dorothy. It’s a moment every version of Glinda shares, and it felt like a perfect crossroads.

But as the concept developed, the tone shifted.

Because there’s another moment—one the musical Wicked moves past quickly—that has always stayed with us:
After Elphaba melts.

In that scene, Glinda is forced to confront the unspoken truth that everything has changed. The sparkle, the confidence, the perfectly poised public persona—all of it collides with the weight of responsibility. It’s here she realizes she must become Glinda the Good, even before she knows how.

Musically, Glinda is often portrayed as charming, bubbly, and even ditzy. And though the musical implies she has no significant magical power, Elphaba still entrusts her with the Grimmerie—telling her:

“You’ll have to learn.”

That line has always fascinated us.
Why give something so ancient, dangerous, and powerful to someone who supposedly can’t use it?

We never believed that Glinda lacked magic.

We believed she lacked belief.

Maybe her magic didn’t come easily like social status, popularity, or charm—so she simply let it go. Took shortcuts. Built walls of glitter instead of foundations of courage. So in our story, her power doesn’t emerge until she’s emotionally ready—until she’s pushed, vulnerable, and forced to grow.

This project is also deeply personal.

Many of you may not know this, but Rachel Potter and Tony have been friends for nearly 20 years. Since the earliest days of PattyCake, we’ve waited for the right moment—and the right song—for her.

From the very first demo, we knew this was it.

It felt like the perfect opportunity not just to create a new “Wicked moment,” but to explore Glinda’s emotional evolution—and to showcase Rachel’s extraordinary voice and presence in a way that feels rightful, intimate, and powerful.

As with all our Evolution videos, we wanted to incorporate every iconic version of the character—but not just as costume changes or references. Instead, the bubbles become portals, mirrors, and teachers.

Inside each bubble appears a different Glinda from across decades—film, stage, animation, reinvention. They don't just show up, they show her something. They become echoes of who she was and previews of who she could be.

In this moment of grief and uncertainty, these past Glindas become her silent mentors—guiding, grounding, and encouraging her to step fully into the role she was always meant to grow into.

She doesn’t evolve alone—she evolves with them

We can’t wait to finally share

Everything I Never Said.

Thank you for supporting PattyCake Productions and for continuing to believe in the magic of storytelling—and the characters who still have more to tell us.
