"One of the most odd things I had ever seen in my playing DF was when I reclaimed a fortress, deep inside their great hall amidst the bits of discarded clothing and debris, was a Unicorn. It was just standing around the great hall of an abandoned fortress, and upon closer inspection had some dwarf's tears on it. I don't know if the tears were in fear when the Unicorn impaled it or that the Dwarf was so heartbroken that it had to leave its beloved pet."
I would lose my mind if this happened in one of my forts.
