A New Age for DF
Added 2019-03-16 10:00:01 +0000 UTC I'm sure most of you have seen, but for those who haven't here's the big Dwarf Fortress news that was announced the other day!
Yes, Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam with new graphics and music. It's going to be a change for sure, but I for one am excited and I think it will be for the best for those astounding Adams Bros. and for our community as well!

I can't wait to see all the changes in tilesets, and I'm really glad the Adams have started working with meph and mayday. There are a bunch of changes that have been announced that I've been looking foward to since the first tileset version! Also looking forward to seeing some Krugg in Tile-o-Vision.

2019-03-18 00:37:26 +0000 UTCI wonder if this will impact their monthly funding either positively or negatively long term. The Steam crowd drawn in (new to DF) will probably be turned off by the UI and grow tired quickly with the DF development cycle. Not sure what the outside contractors are going to cost them long term, but I have seen publishing partnerships with previously independent developers sour quickly in the past.
