Working on the (basic) Tutorial

Hey, dudes! Just in case you didn't see it at the end of yesterday's post, I am currently working on a basic tutorial for DF that will be out next week. I'm only really looking to include things that first time players will have to know in order to start a small, basic fort. If I wanted to include EVERY little bit, this would end up being a series like damn Monsterkiller! That being said, i'm looking to include the things a new player would have to know. (so far) I'm including:

- Installation

- World creation

- Site selection

-Forming a embark group

- Viewing the play area ("k" vs. "v" vs. "q")

-Designations/mining

-Constructing buildings

-Using workshops to build items

-Producing food/drink

-Basic military commands

-And MOST importantly: How to keep our eyes open for fun details!

Now, that's pretty full plate right there, but i'm going to try to pull it off in a single episode (which might end up being insane). I figure the more advanced portions of the game can be hit upon in many of the other thousands of DF tutorials out there, eh? I dunno, guess we'll see how it goes!
