H Guys, looking back at the last 15 months where I decided to stop work on v1 and concentrate on v2, I remind myself of the reasons for doing this. The first version was a great start, it allowed me to focus on the engine of Pornspective and really make sure the logic was working as expected and a user interface that was basic but fast to develop.
However with the older technology of the user interface restricting my ability to make Pornspective into the vision I really wanted I chose to move v2 and adopt a more flexible user interface with Microsoft WPF. This would allow me full capability of creating slick controls and especially a new media player which should be at the heart of the application.
Well I think this next release will justify the hard work I put into v2, especially all of the repeat functionality I needed to do. Finally I was able to concentrate on new functionality with timed tags and playlists and that has really been fun.
Then comes Covid.
It's derailed me for a week or so, I'm fortunate that the virus didn't really do anything other than make me tired but this last week I've been able to finish off the playlist work.
So onto this new functionality which I know many have asked about and said that this would truly make Pornspective feature rich. Well it's here, I'm just doing some last minute testing over the next day or so and I'll release.
What can you expect?
Well, as you know with all the functionality I like to include in the application I tend to go for fully flexible and configurable right away. No point in making something basic and then having to rework it, right?
Playlists will have three modes, the classic (Basic) mode which as you would expect allows you to create a playlist which you can add to through the application or player. You can sort content and remove. Furthermore you can take a slice of a video in the player and add this to the playlist and therefore not only creating video after video, but slice after slice - a compilation!
It doesn't stop there though, you can create a dynamic type playlist. This will add content automatically by the filters you set. So now it's easy to create a play list of the content with specific tags or excluding certain tags. Once step further, if you start to use timed tags you can create a play list that plays video content of all the timed tags. Here you can create timed tag ranges on all the moneyshot content for example, then a playlist can be dynamically created to show all moneyshot snippets! You can add multiple conditions like this, such as all dp snippets + all money shot snippets! It's entirely up to you.
Finally there is a hybrid mode, allowing the best of both worlds. You can dynamically add content through conditions but also add manual content (full or ranges) to the playlist.
Hopefully you are as excited as I for this next release!
Watch this space guys!
