Roadmap Plans for Pornspective

Hi guys, as I mentioned in my last post I wanted to give you all an idea of where Pornspective is heading and the kind of features to expect. All helped by your generous and ongoing support.

My vision is the Pornspective becomes the Swiss-army knife for your precious collection that you've spent months and years building. A tool of many uses, whether this be automatic tagging and classification, rapid browsing and searching, searching online material or viewing content. Pornspective can be the one-stop shop.

I'm going to list out some features and ideas I have planned. If you'd like to give me feedback or feel there's something else I should be thinking about then please let me know!

• AI TAGGING. It's no secret that Pornspective AI is leading the way forward for automatic scene tagging. I'm getting close to a version that I'm happy to integrate with the main application. Plans are to include an out of the box AI model and then make available more models for different types of collections. This is a stand-out feature that sets Pornspective from the rest, it will just keep getting better as AI is moving a lightening speed.
  
• ONGOING INTERFACE DESIGN. I'm always looking to improve the user interface and the look of Pornspective. Recent editions have seen the new Netflix style browsers. I'm planning to use the same control technology in the choosers (People, Studios etc) so as to bring a consistent look and feel. I'm also then going to make the jump to WPF completely with the application. This will mean an improvement on visual performance, i.e. the flickering you sometimes see when moving between screens. It will also solve the resolution issues some of you find with high res displays.
  
• MORE INFORMATION FROM ONLINE SOURCES. I'm finding that when you are a collector like I am, then you want to know more about an actress or studio i.e. what other scenes or movies have they appeared in, what levels they perform to, any latest scenes that have come out. You get the idea. I want to build on this by pulling more from plugins and presenting along the same lines as the Netflix browsers. I'm doing some research currently in a bid to be inspired on the best layout, my gut feeling is I need to ditch the original tag detail screen that previous looked so good with something more functional and looks even better!
  
• AN API. For a while now I've been structuring my underlying code to easily allow me to produce a web based API that will expose the features and data of Pornspective for other applications to consume. This could be WebOS for smart TVs, a Kodi plugin or even a web based application. Furthermore it will allow you to host Pornspective on a separate machine (if you have one spare) and keep it running in the background. This will then open the doors for other developers to contribute i.e. an iOS application.
  
• MEDIA PLAYER. I plan to re-write the current media player embedded in the application. This is using old tech such as Windows Forms and quite clunky. A new WPF player will allow me to firstly make it smoother and more responsive on scrolling through but my main driver is to take advantage of the blending and transparency that WPF offers so that I can bring up information overplayed on the media player, such as bookmarks with AI tags of actions, or time based tagging you've set in the movie of where certain acts start. Imagine Amazon's X-Ray, then you've got an idea of what I'm thinking.
  
• TIME BASED TAGGING. Ability to specify tags for certain parts of the movie and scene and jump to them. Helped by AI, but also available for manual creation.
  
• CONTENT SPLITTING AND MERGING. Similar to the image sets, I'm looking to do the same for videos. But both ways, you can either group scenes together or split a movie (virtually not actually cutting the file) and represent this as a scene. Great for those full movie releases where you'd like to catalog the actual scene.
  
• MORE STATISTICS. This is the nerdy bit, but I'd like to allow you to see more statistics that Pornspective already has. This includes disk usage, numbers of tags, popular tags etc. It will give you a good understanding of your collection, what you prefer and ultimately then start suggesting searches and even identifying online content you might like.
  
• ONLINE COMMUNITY. I'm still not sure about how to approach this yet, everything I've done with Pornspective is local and completely private. However I'm going to give an option for you to share information, it might be tags, it might be classifying a movie and tidying up the metadata. My promise though is I will always make this an option for you and  default to off when I do include this type of functionality. Your privacy is very important to me.
  
• SMALLER ENHANCEMENTS. This list will grow I'm sure, but I'm also thinking of some easy to include enhancements such as Password for logging on, ability to store some common searches, more helper actions to make using the application even slicker and quicker to use.

Well guys, that's the kind of stuff that I'm going to be doing over the coming months. If you thought Pornspective was already packed with features then yes you'd be right, but there's plenty more where that came from!!! With your help and support let's make this Swiss-army knife!
