Pornspective Masterclass

HI Guys,

It struck me this week that I'm now well into the fifteenth month of developing Pornspective. With releases generally every month I have packed in a lot of functionality during this period. Those who have been patrons since the early days will have gradually seen the features being added and hopefully tried them out each time I release. However there are many that have joined in the last four to six months that will have already jumped straight to a feature rich application.

Some recent messages I've had highlights that some of you may not know the full capabilities of Pornspective and might be missing out. So I'm putting together masterclass posts from now on which will highlight functionality and how to use it. I'll do this one by one, but initially let me start by listing out all the features the product has and then over masterclass posts I'll go into more detail. Look out for more masterclass posts, I'll tag them with masterclass so they are easy to find.

1. A help guide is available under the About -> Help menu. This has all the instructions on how to get started together with a release history showing all the details of each release (best read from bottom to top).

2. A Getting started screen gives you a few pointers on how best to get started with Pornspective. 

3. Scan you entire video and image library. File formats can be added if you have other video or image types that aren't out of the box. Further more images can be grouped into image sets.

4. All videos and images are thumbnailed whilst they are scanned. However you can choose to regenerate a thumbnail afterwards for specific videos. You can even use the bookmark images if you've already created bookmarks.

5. The system has a built in backup and restore feature. Backups are stored as a zip file and can be restored from within the application i.e. you get a new machine or decide to reinstall windows.

6. The system has a built in media player with all the basic controls however you can configure Pornspective to open VLC or other external media players if you wish.

7. Pornspective can also control your Kodi system. You can send content to Kodi and remote control such as scan through the video, jump to a bookmark and pause. You can also view images via Kodi as a slideshow.

8. You can create and edit as many tags as you wish. I'll make tagging one of the first masterclasses as there are so many techniques you can configure here. You can also add nice artwork to tags which looks all the better in the system. Note, you can also export tags and share them with others.

9. You can import tags, I've created some posts from the summer where I've exported a starting set of actresses and studios. Feel free to download these an import them.

10. You can create tag groups, if you'd like to classify a tag in a group that does not yet exist then you can create that group.

11. Content doesn't have to be digital media, you can use Pornspective to document your DVDs and BluRays. There is a plugin dedicated for a leading DVD supplier website to allow you to easy pull down the artwork and details of the DVD/Blu-ray.

12. You can create unto seven bookmarks for each video. You can jump to bookmarks when playing through the built in player or via Kodi.

13. There are lots of plugins now for Pornspective, enable these and you can be downloading from external sites your favourite content or actresses. The plugins will also assist you in creating tags especially for studios and actresses.

14. The new Netflix style screens now allow you to create your own custom filters and views. For example you can have a screen dedicated to your favourite blonde actresses.

15. You can choose to see the listing of your content in many ways, by filtering and sorting and choosing the appropriate results view.

16. Sort by Random, this will give you a lucky dip each time you start the application. Great for seeing content in huge collections and reminding yourself what you have.

17. Set individual tags such as actresses to carry out online searches for them. For example make Pornspective check on the latest Riley Reid it finds from the plugin websites and highlight these to you. This configuration can be done once you've enabled the plugins and configured the actresses tag.

These are just a few I can think of now. I'm sure I've missed lots even now. But like I say I will start to publish the masterclasses with much more detail on how to do these features. Watch this space.
