Added 2020-08-22 14:26:17 +0000 UTCHi Guys, I've been on a vacation for a week and concious I've not posted any updates on where I am with the next version of Pornspective. I've been receiving losts of comments and feedback from you guys which is absolutely amazing and helping me plan what is next, at the same time sparking some new ideas too.
One of the main items of feedback is that some don't like the idea that the system uses filenames as it's core to tagging and naming and want a database or non-filename dependant system. I'm working on 1.8 therefore of giving you the best of both worlds, when you choose a location you'll now be able to tell Pornspective not to modify filenames and instead the system will store additional information and tags away from the file.
This then leads me onto the main functionality, I'm introducing a new concept for non file based content i.e. DVDs or magazines. You'll be able to add these too to Pornspective and declare their physical location and info for these. In the true spirit of Pornspective I'm making life easy for you on this too, I'm bringing in a plugin for a well known dvd site that allows you to grab all the artwork, info and screen images from the internet. So essentially you'll search for the DVD you have and simply add it. Great news is I'm extending this functionality to the existing files too, in otherwords if you've file based content then they too can have dvd covers/posters etc and info pulled from the internet.
All of the above will be in 1.8 together with bug fixes you guys have told me about. Looking to get 1.8 to you early Sept 2020. Beyond 1.8 I'll continue with the AI tagging work and looking at a fundamental change with making Pornspective have an API to allow other platforms to interface i.e. native mobile app or Linux/Mac front end.
