One of the very useful parts of Pornspective is the bookmarking. With Beta 0.0.2.0 you can create bookmarks from the media player by hitting CTRL-B or the bookmark button at the point you want to create one (upto 7 bookmarks are allowed per video). Although I found this great, it does take some effort to scan and choose the appropriate places in the video. So enter the Bookmark Editor from Beta 0.0.3.0 onwards, just got a few bits to finish but it'll propose 25 screenshots, you then choose 7 for bookmarking and save. Much easier and faster!
Funny thing with this development over the last couple of days, I've been trying my hardest to make if render faster, felt really slugglish and I wasn't happy. So I put all effort into making it slick. Still it was slightly sluggish. Brainwave ... reboot my Windows VM I have running on my Mac. Volia! It's now lightning fast, all this time I'd ran low on VM memory and didn't realise. Needless to say the Bookmark Editor is fine now!
One thing I need to definitely do before releasing Beta 0.0.3.0 is change the save mechanism slightly. I introduced autosave option, however whilst testing the Bookmark Editor I had a bug which caused it the crash whilst saving meaning I lost my master file. Luckily I had a copy from a few days ago. All I need to do to fix this is save it to a temp file first, if it crashes then no harm, if it doesn't crash then the last bit is simply overwriting the existing master with the temp - at that point everything should be fine. Microsoft Office does a similar thing behind the scenes, so I'm going to copy that idea.
Snippet for Beta 0.0.4.0 ... I'm tempted to put in a cast feature to throw videos to my Kodi systen/ChromeCast. So idea is browse for video in Pornspective and play either in Pornspective or cast to living room TV for example (obviously without the grandparents sitting there having a coffee). So as I say I'm tempted to do this next although priority wise I think I still might end up doing the config UI part i.e. adding indexes and tags within the app. This is the bit that is reliant at the moment on the user knowing how to edit JSON files and potentially messing them up.
Anyway, 0.0.3.0 should be available next couple of days.
