Tonights Work
Added 2019-11-19 20:14:18 +0000 UTCStressful day at work means sticking my head in coding more of Pornspective and chilling out. Some peope do crosswords, watch Netflix or play Playstation. I code :)
So what's next? Well first what do we have in Beta 0.1?
1. A stable Windows Desktop application, looking really nice (even for Windows Forms)
2. A nice in built media player with bookmarking capability.
3. An intelligent tagging system, and the ability to use tagging to filter results.
4. A robust scanning engine, with in built thumbnailing of videos. Proven so far with 5000+ videos.
5. A settings file controlling the system, requiring you to know JSON. Needs replacing with a user interface for sure.
6. No installer, but can be ran directly from file.
What's next then? Well for Beta 0.2 I'm thinking my next code should be (just a few small steps for now to make it look even nicer) ...
1. More info on the content, i.e. video codec logo, audio codec logo.
2. Autosaving option.
3. Moving thumbnails and bookmarks into their own folders to help with keeping it ultra fast in terms of performance.
4. Star rating logo on content and the grid (image).
5. Help. There are lots of shortcut keys making the app really slick and fast to use. But you need to know what they are in order to use them! i.e. CTRL-B during video playback adds a bookmark. CTRL pops open the bookmarks of the video etc...
So a few things to tidy up and then I'll crack on with even better functionality! One thing I like to do is finish parts off before starting anything new.
