Livestreams: WPA Poster and A Halloween Cat Extravaganza

Why hello there, Residents! It's ya pal Raglioni and it's time for a recap of the last two week's livestreams!

Two weeks ago the prompt was making your version of a classic work of art! I chose an amazing Works Progress Administration-funded 1930s Fruit Shop poster.

Towards the end of the AM stream I got distracted by showing some of my and Zach's childhood toys, items, and reading from my middle school DIARY!! If you want to see just that part, head to 52:14 in the AM Stream VOD, and enjoy the nostalgia/cringe!

In the PM stream I got more work done on the poster, but haven't yet finished it up! That evening we discussed housing, the PNW, our favorite fruits, and selling art at conventions!

Last week the prompt was voted on by patrons, and the winner was: Cat Art Print! I spent the day livestreaming while I sketched ideas for a Halloween themed cat illustration, inspired by vintage Halloween postcards with cats dancing under a full moon.

In the AM stream Townie Carli sent a picture of her cat baby, round sweetum Oliver, and I doodled him! Also, Carli shared her results from the previous week's prompt, her excellent study of a 1970s Kodak ad! Thanks for sharing, Carli!

In the PM stream I cleaned up to clearly most popular sketch, to get it ready to print out and paint over, and prepared a color study so I would have a plan for what colors to use! And on Friday I FINISHED IT and it is one of my favorite things I've made in years!!!

During the stream a few residents shared their art! Townie Victoria shared her classic art study, a beautiful POSCA marker study of The Two Fridas. Townie Taylor shared their adorable and pastel Resident Card. And Townie Carli came in with a double whammy of 1,2,3! A trio of funky cat faces! Thanks Victoria, Taylor, and Carli for sharing your inspiring art!

Doin what? POSCA Ghosts!

Kickin' off the month again with my current ole' standby- Spooky ghosts just chillin' and hanging out, sketched on Procreate on my iPad and finished traditionally. I have an idea for a ghost at a vending machine... hmm.
