Livestreams: 5-Minute Faces + GUESS WHAT

Howdy Residents! It's time for a reeeecap of the last two weeks of livestreams!

Two weeks ago our prompt was 5-Minute timed Portrait Practice and boy was it a doozy! We put up faces from Say Yes to the Dress (which I've been watching on Youtube just for fun,) and then did 5-minute rounds of sketching the faces, and boy was it HARD!

A couple brave souls joined in the practice and we all felt either rusty or totally new to drawing faces like this, which I think is a great sign that it's a good thing to practice. I think you can visibly see me get more comfortable with the process as the rounds go by.

Shout out to Kaila, Francesca, and Carli for doing this challenge! I absolutely loved seeing your drawings, and you all killed it! You can see their portraits in the #gallery-wall and #livestream-chat channels of the Discord. The reference images are there too if you want to practice!

Then last week was a last minute prompt, because something very exciting happened that Sunday... Zach proposed and I said yes!!! We've been together for 8 years now and will now be getting married in our 10th. 

I'll share more about it in the podcast newsletter, but Sunday was an absolutely lovely day with all of my favorite things, and capped off with the sweetest proposal and a surprise celebratory game night with two of our very good friends, Justin and Francesca. Also I am so so so so obsessed with my ring, and excited to plan a fun party and honeymoon trip with Zach!! My fiancé!! I'm a fiancé! We're fiancés!

The livestream was supposed to be drawing an announcement for Instagram of one of my favorite pictures after the proposal. But alas I couldn't nail down a style that I liked, so it remains just a sketch.

For the PM Stream, I - whoops- worked on other art projects all day before the stream, and so had some arm pain and had to stop drawing partway through. Kaila had the great idea for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) instead, and asked all kinds of great questions about art and life. :)
