Ed, in doing whatever he thought was for a better future of the world (and maybe a little messing around), accidentally messed with another higher beings or supernatural force's plans. 2. Sage, when helping Ed out the night before the wedding, overstepped her ground and accidentally messed up with their own rules and/or plain of existence.
