YIKES. What the actual fuck was done to those people? That’s abominable! That operation sucked those people’s souls out and turned them into drones. I wonder how much of them was left under that reprogramming.
How horrific.
The man who saved Kino...well. He certainly could have gone about that more intelligently. But he was a good man for not being willing to turn and run when Kino was in danger. It’s no wonder that Kino patterned themselves after him--he was the only role model left after what her parents and the townsfolk tried to do, and he was a heroic one at that.
Interesting that Hermes has been with Kino for this long. I was under the impr4ession that Kino stole Hermes from their master when they ran off, but the pair have been together for at least a decade at this point. No wonder they bicker like old friends. They are.
