Oof. They’re both upset. Shirase didn’t really assert herself about it before snooping, though? She halfheartedly asked a couple of times without being specific and then just went straight to reading her emails. Well, it’s done now, and Hinata caught her doing it, too, so now they get to have it out--or more likely, Hinata gets to be mad about it for a while, and then have it out later.
Also, maybe I’m misunderstanding Japanese culture, but Hinata just called her “Shirase” without any honorifics, which is a sign of familiarity and something you do with close friends, right? Am I reading that correctly? Which makes it hurt more that Shirase just violated her privacy. Ooof.
It’ll be cool to finally get to see what’s going on with Hinata’s background. I’ve been offhandedly wondering that for a while--we had a Hinata Episode when she forgot her passport, but while that dug into her issues with accepting help from people, here I think we’re going to see where that stubborn independence comes from.
