I have to say, yikes. When this show goes in on being gruesome, it doesn’t hold back. Like I said, it gets to be a bit much for me sometimes? But I’ll manage.
It seems Claire likes the sound of his own voice almost as much as Ladd does--thankfully, he’s far more interesting and entertaining, when he’s not, y’know, happily talking about how he’s going to flay a child’s body alive just to torture its occupant. Biting off the fingers was bad enough, Claire, but why did you chew?
As for Szilard and Maiza--I’m excited for this to come to a head finally. Knowing this show it’ll be a couple episodes before it really gets going, but! We’re almost there. And the evidence shows that the six mortals are probably now immortal! Exciting! Kind of sad we didn’t see it explicitly, but I’m sure Isaac and Miria will recover from a gruesome gunshot wound or two next episode.
All in all, Baccano’s still chugging along, and I’m still enjoying the ride. I’m looking forward to more.

(I was already given permission by the Place Further backer to push that to the start of October, which is good, because I needed to.)
