Steven Universe Future episode 17--Homeworld Bound!

I’m not sure that sits well with me. Steven’s gripped by a lot of emotional instability right now, but an enraged, traumatized attempt to shatter White Diamond? Not that she doesn’t have it coming after everything she’s done, but it seemed outside Steven’s character. I guess I was wrong. I guess I was wrong about just how severely he needs help. He’s spiraling completely out of control.
(To clarify, she’s genuinely trying to be better and genuinely trying to help people now. She shouldn’t get shattered at this point. But I’m not going to say that everything she’s done doesn’t warrant it.)
This poor kid. How’s he going to get the help he needs? I wonder...there’s one entity left on the antagonist shot. Is he going to run into an alien monster while he’s out running, or is he going to run into an alien person while he’s out running? Or...maybe he’s going to end up becoming that giant lizard? It certainly wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility here.
That was...hrm. It was another important episode, but it didn’t really have the heft and impact of Fragments. It was good, but weirdly it doesn’t seem to pull out of the pack for me. Homeworld Bound comes in at my new #10 for Season 6 (between Prickly Pair and Mr. Universe) and my new #63 overall (between Gem Heist and Monster Buddies).
Up next for the liveblog is going to be the next episode of Steven Universe Future, Everything’s Fine! Everything is not fine! I can’t wait to see how not fine it is! We’re on the Steven Universe train until the last stop, so...man. We’re so close to the real end of Steven Universe.
I...have a lot of feelings about that. I’ll be getting into those as we go.
Up next for streaming--now that I’ve finished DOOM Eternal (you can check out all of my DOOM streams by clicking here) and have a working PS3 controller again, I’m going to be returning to Nier! I’m going to play that one to completion this time. If you’d like to see the Nier streams I’ve done so far, click here.
Thank you all for tuning in. I’ll see you for whatever you tune in for next!
