Holy shit. Ohhhh my god that was so funny. Oh my god. I’m so happy with that episode. What a turnaround from A Very Special Episode. Holy shit.
And what an excellent way for Pearl to start shapeshifting again! Something wholesome and low-key, where there’s no stakes, no pressure, just a sweet, fun reason to open herself up to that again.
I love this episode. No question. This is one of the best episodes in the show.
It’s been so long since we’ve had an episode that was just...pure, undiluted fun. The closest comparisons I’d make are to Kindergarten Kid and Hit the Diamond. Nothing else in the show even approaches this level of sheer ridiculous fun. Most of the great episodes in this show are serious ones, that examine serious things, or have plot-heavy stories to tell, or are just really good Pearl episodes. It’s so nice to have another one that’s just light, bright fun.
As such, Snow Day comes in at my new #1 for Season Six, displacing Volleyball, and my new #2 overall, between Hit the Diamond and A Single Pale Rose. This is without question the funniest, most fun episode in the entire show, and it absolutely deserves that ranking.
Up next for the liveblog is going to be the next Steven Universe episode, Why So Blue? It might be about Blue Diamond, or, hopefully, about Blue Deedee. That would be awesome.
