I have to say, I liked Say Uncle better. At least Say Uncle opened with “None of this is real”, so I could just sit back and let the silliness wash over me instead of investing my energy into the episode like I did here. Not to mention–Uncle Grandpa is a weird-ass character, and I don’t particularly like the humor, but Sunstone is just kind of…lame. So we got an episode focused on a pointless gimmick whose core joke is that it’s playing 90s PSAs straight that wasn’t very funny and mostly just awkward.
That sucked, guys. Sorry to say it so bluntly, but I hated that. It feels like I wasted my time.
A Very Special Episode comes in at my new #6 for the season, below Bluebird, and my new #157 for the series, between Love Letters and Together Breakfast. I hope what we get next is better. Looks like…Snow Day? We’ll see.
That’s what’s up next for liveblogs, which I’ll be doing Wednesday. Other than that, I’m going to take a little break, and then I think I’ll stream the start of my blind playthrough of Uncharted! I may change my mind, but I feel like streaming something I hear is quite excellent to wash the taste of this episode out of my mouth. I hope to see you there!
