I guess I know now why Szilard had Dallas gooed up; once he’s got the stuff in his system, he’s properly edible, even though Szilard said he probably wouldn’t get much from devouring him. Still. Odd choice.

I’m not sure why I’m so surprised that most of the immortals made it off the Advenna Avis alive. I knew at least Maiza, Szilard, and Czeslaw would, but now there’s a whole bunch that are probably still running around the world. It’s interesting to think about. How many of them are still in touch with each other? How many of them have asked their fellows to end their lives? Did Sylvie take that dose after all? Was she that lounge singer we saw? Lots to think about from this one.

And it raised the question of whether the world would be ready for an immortality serum. Frankly,, I think it’s a good question; there’s multiple angles to come at it from, and the damage it might do is a real weight to counterbalance the good it might do. It’s a big question, and one that’s very context-dependent. I’m not sure I have a good answer myself. I’d have to think on it some more.
