Potential new patronage tier, looking for thoughts
Added 2018-08-20 06:15:08 +0000 UTCSo a few hours ago I posted a request for feedback--the tl;dr is that people really like when I do my narrator voice for game lore, and it's been suggested to me that I not only upload vids of me reading game codices for practice (as was my original idea) but also set a Patreon tier where people can pick game lore for me to do Serious ReadingsTM of every month.
I'd like your thoughts on that idea, because the poll is showing OVERWHELMING support for me making that patronage tier. How much should you get me to read each month? What should the patronage tier BE? It's quite a bit more active work (recording takes, RE-recording takes, video editing, acquiring a game or book occasionally) than providing the Minecraft server is, so I think probably above that, but I'd like your thoughts on how high it should be.
I think at the very least I'll be recording a test video or two of the DOOM lore bits before officially making this a thing, but i want to hear from you guys in the meantime.

my thoughts on the tier is figuring out approximately how many words per minute you can read in ur narrator voice and then offering like, word count-ish things ("up to 500 words" or something) for the tier(s?) as for tiers, i think they should scale slightly if you have multiple, ascending tiers-- like, if you have 12 people at the $10 tier and you read 300 words for each of them that's 3600 words to read and edit and do takes on and 12 different things to get ur hands on to read (unless ur patrons collab together to get bigger chunks of one thing) but if you have 2 people at $50 that's only two things you need to get ur hands on, so it makes sense to read maybe 2k words for each of them instead of 1.5k! (idk if there's much video game lore reading that would come in a 2000 word chunk, but just, you know, examples)
