Hello, everyone. EkhidnaWritez here. As we prepare to start Book 3 of the Black Ship, I'd like to announce the official launch of the Side Story: Barony of the Screaming Forest. Initially, this was going to be part of the main story, written entirely by me, but after much deliberation, I decided to make it a long-form Side Story focused on the events happening on Haego and on Wyatt's Barony. This Side Story focuses more on the concept of -State Development- with the usual Black Ship shenanigans happening. You may have noticed the mention of names in the main story, such as Aino, Elizabeth, and Rachel but with no context on who they are. Well, this Side Story is where you'll find them.
I would like to thank David Orf for taking charge and the lead in writing and developing the story, always with my permission and supervision, to make it into a reality. So, please, all thanks go to him and his wonderful work. I've only supervised and monitored with edition and proofreading to ensure Black Ship-level quality and in-universe interactions. Enjoy! This video is Day one of the side story and the full part for day one is 1h 9m long! You'll get the next part tomorrow morning (I just didn't have time to get the full episode out today given my family is also off - no school and now work). Ekhinda has told me there are 7 days (coming) of this story and each 'day' is as long as this one so you're going to have lots more Black Ship to listen to over the next few weeks.
I hope you enjot this side story. It's definately adds to the main story and I'm really pleased David has been able to write it.

The story beings with Raquel listening to her private music collection of Old Songs handed down by a relative that was also a pilot, and a thought hits her about being in the Elite fighter squadron, do they not need a musical tune to aid them as the crews are preparing the fighters to be launched as they will be the first to go and then the last to land. The song DANGER ZONE, came to mind and has the lyrics of, "JUMPING OFF THE DECK AND GOING INTO OVERDRIVE". White the chorus of Highway into the Danger Zone. rotating to the Tune of We Will Rock You, including all the aircraft technical staff getting fighters ready to fly on a mission. Then upon returning to the ship A song of Country Roads, where they will be taken home. Then a thought hits her about how the Drazzon used the jamming signals from large Capitol ships, could not one of the mining drones as an extension to the fighter wing have a electronic warfare fighter, to be used in shorter range to combat areas. Would not a musical tune hide or block out the enemies communications. The mining drone set up with large computing equipment would always be scanning and then blocking or with a musical song that the Black Ship Fighters will here in the background of their head sets, while the opposing fighters communications are shocked with a musical blare of the musical group... AC/DC of Thunder Struck, Old Black Betty, and Lanyard Skinner Free Bird choirs "Lord I Can't Change, Fly Like a Free Bird. With the song by Stepping Wolf, Born To Be Wild, or From Two Steps From Hell, Flight of the Silver Bird.
