Sadly, I could see this really happening in the future after all, in the UK we have "White Van Man" with a similar mind-set, only not quite so amusing. .

2025-05-25 21:07:03 +0000 UTCwe learned early to sing about sticks and stones, no surprise we still consider using them in a fight, and we also learned if the enemy is bigger than you, you use everything you have to even the odds. Hitting them inside the field of debris limiting their targeting, movement, and providing unlimited external materials to throw while appearing to be under armed for combat was tactical genius. The comms exchange was a perfect psychological tactic to disarm then humiliate the enemy to. Allowing the footage to leak out and letting it become entertainment and training doctrine compounds the insult and injury. The Esshar would have done better to deny the whole incident rather than pursue the punishment of the officer they trained for command. The commander may have lost his rank and place in the fleet, but he knew without a doubt it was beyond his training so he accepted his sentence knowing the command was forced to act before they could be forced to face the reality that they underestimated humans. Fun story, but the GC universe hostiles would likely have fired first before the ore ship could have thrown the asteroid, or tried to destroy the asteroid to lessen the damage. Just my 2 chits on the table though. - Thanks.
