PTSD seems to be a really big problem. I have a disability called aphantasia, so I cannot recall any smells, voices or pictures from my past, whether good or bad. It's simply nothing; as the saying goes, 'out of sight, out of mind'. Maybe a real combat scenario would trigger a memory; I don't know. Good work on all these reviews — for me, they're as interesting as the story itself.
