Went back to episode 43 part 1. The princess got the recipe for the wonderful pastry called vescomb. Since the Noirnavio and crew are staying in the Hastrung system for a few weeks, I think it would be a good time for Wyatt to visit the Princess’ chef to ask for lessons in cooking with Wyatt making a personal friend or friends in the kitchen staff. It would be so much fun to watch him settle in the kitchen as a worker putting on the work clothes and doing the work while there. Wyatt is excellent at breaking down barriers trying new things and making loyal friends as he goes. People admire his honesty, humility and character. I like him.

Wams brief break on where Wyatt was got their minds to settle enough that his new eye colors triggered the fainting

Saying that, it would be impossible to do POVs among continuing the story with the lengths being written in a story that’s capable of coming out weekly. Also if it would progress like how you would like, I believe it would take away from the story itself ,with how detailed it is. And those details are what makes the story so compelling. It’s only been a few days in the story too.

2025-05-07 17:47:30 +0000 UTCI think the POVs that Darren is talking about are important but I think it's time to move the story along and I agree with Darren that the POV should be occurring with the story not the whole segment or chapter whatever you want to call it it's definitely time to move the story into another direction like going to assassinate one of the castons or something like that.

My own personal take on what I find to be Ehkinda greatest skill is no so much in the storytelling but rather in his skill in writing And then presenting POVs on the same occurrence. The POVs are well written and gives a credible perspective from that characters point of view. Indeed most of the comments tend to also be POVs on the same occurance. Very few authors do that well... Shakespeare and Beckett are 2 who were experts.. So Ehkinda when writing a POVfor example when the Drazzan ship was boarded is showing exceptional skill..... I still though would like to see the story progress at a quicker pace with POVs being part of a chapter rather that the whole chapter.....

2025-05-06 06:56:40 +0000 UTCMy favorite part of this chapter is how Mr Worlo comes running when he hears Wyatt's name in the news report. He knows when information makes the news it will be a significant revelation and potential shock to the Staples family. Mr Worlo deeply cares for the Staples, as evident in his history helping Wyatt to cope with his trauma, teaching him to paint and talking with him. This reminds me how Maxamillian tried to handle Casimir Cayston's trama. He cared for the young man and tried to reassure him of his safety through the act of asking Wyatt to speak to Casimir. Wyatt agreed quickly because he understood this kind of fear and felt compelled to tell Casimir the conditions he must accept if he did not wish to live in fear. Yet still the Staples family had not experienced the trauma Wyatt lived but only witnessed how the 'monsters broke him'. Mr Worlo hoped he had experience they could draw upon to understand what was happening, but this was so far above a commoner's life now he states Wyatt is 'in the center of a shit storm now', but his allies of House Astor are powerful, but he also has made some powerful enemies. He knows now is not the time to explain everything, that they need time to absorb the news. He wisely holds back to allow the initial shock so they might listen more intently when he tries to explain later. Wyatt's brother anxiously gets a data pad to find out where all the news comes from and how far that is away. When he realizes how close that is, he voices how Wyatt might come see them or they could vid-call him, since they have the credits. Wyatt's mother represses the idea, letting his brother know how intrusive it might be on Wyatt at the moment. Wert sees Wyatt fighting, though he himself is a pacifist, he watches his son brutally fight the enemies. He fears Wyatt fighting the Drazzan will get him killed, but now also sees that fighting for the prince carries the same real threat. Wert and Wyatt's brothers seeing this news and realizing the danger all succumb and faint, Wynonna having to catch one of her sons as he faints and falls. The prince holds a video call with the Yikanti, and suffers the insult of having to work through an envoy appointed for speak to The Principality and Prince Astor on behalf of the Hierarchy. The prince suffers the insult to engage them in talking. We see the Hierarchy distrust humans and The Principality. The prince boldly informs them the survivors that wish to return will be returned without any conditions, but Okarak is unbelieving of the gesture and prompts for likely ulterior motives behind the actions. Prince Astor repeats the gesture is without conditions. He states the Drazzan are a mutual threat and just wishes the survivors safe return, but suspecting the Yikanti question that some wish to remain behind, he offers to send all the survivors back. Okara quickly confers with others using speech not understood by the translator device, the tells the prince the 'weaklings' not wishing to return are not wanted. In an effort to counter any hidden motive, Okara tells the prince they may be kept as slaves, or disposed of if he desires, seeming to offer them as payment for returning the survivors wishing to return. The entire conversation lasted but minutes, while also being observed by members of the prince's council. Many of the council members are visibly disturbed by the suspicious and derisive attitude of Okara, but refrain from voicing it. The prince knows the current political state between The Principality and the Hierarchy is one of conflict but he hopes this will lend to future opportunities to smooth relations. After the call concludes the prince's council discuss the Yikanti wishing to remain and how difficult it will be to find placement for them, but they admit the Yikanti are not the worst xeno immigrants to allow into The Principality. It is interesting to note even within the prince's supporters the infighting between houses can be seen when they try to place fault for the translater device not working. Though Yikanti have captured many human slaves, the prince states House Ferantis will likely find purchase for them. He also declares he will order fewer raids be held on Yikanti moving forward. This no doubt is his opening move to improve The Principality relations with the Yikanti Hierarchy that he stipulated was in his goal before the succession dispute. In the middle of this chapter Juliana spills the beans on Knight Oakmoon's family history stating she personally knows Hawlan from her academy days. Claiming not to have intimate knowledge but that she knows he fathered many bastard children. When the prince presses to know if he forced himself on the women, Juliana states that is not the case but that Hawlan Oakmoon won over his parters with his exceptional charisma. The prince ask if he should worry that Wyatt might be influenced through Declan Oakmoon, possibly concerned his association might stir behavior in Wyatt that emmulates Declan's father, with Clara being so enamored with Wyatt already. This reminds me when the prince admonished Wyatt to guard that his eyes remain clear before they departed on the mission to House Ferantis. I feel the prince may be a little over protective of Clara here, but traditions are strong and guarding the royal bloodline is serious business. The conversation touches on the integration of new technology and tactics, some that may face resistance because of tradition, but it is noted the changes make The Principality Stronger and much more capable of fighting the Erribians and other invaders. Redford is getting the credit, but they know the tactics are coming from Wyatt's battles. Juliana wonders what new surprises Wyatt will come up with next as they discuss what has already changed because of him. Not meant to suggest that the hierarchy is actually backing the Prince's claim to the principality, as that would require the leadership of the Hierarchy to say it, and Strategos can't make that call.

Option 2 the stealth snatch would be dramatic itself.However option 3 would bring all the nobles for a visit from Royalty. This would make for a chance run in with Serhan Gimor. Wyatt would put a bullet in his head.

2025-05-06 02:12:37 +0000 UTCI hope nothing actually happens to Wyatt's family. I like to think Clara and Cynthia wouldn't make such a simple mistake as to just leave them be. That probably means the Staples will soon be leaving their home. I can think of 3 possible ways this could happen. The first and least exciting would be for them to buy a passage on a ship and leave without telling anyone, bringing only things with sentimental value and just leaving everything else behind. The second way would be for Noirnavio to get to the planet under stealth and quietly take the family away. Jincho could probably create a hole in the planet's surveillance network to allow a shuttle through unseen. (Maybe that would give him the idea for the future to try making a stealth shuttle using the technology from Noirnavio.) The final option would have Clara make an official visit to the planet for some made up reason, while in truth she would be there to pick up Wyatt's family. This would mean that as Clara goes around meeting the nobles, Wyatt might have a run in with the noble from his childhood who negotiated with the Drazzan to save himself. However it happens though, I hope Mr. Worlo comes along. Also, a meeting between Clara, Cynthia and Wyatt's family might make for a fun episode, where they get to learn embarrassing things from his past, and where they get to share the embarrassing things about him that they have witnessed. All while Wyatt has to be there and suffer through it.

Clara surely knows the potential fallout for Wyatt and his family. Nor is Wyatt so obtuse as to be oblivious to the danger to his family. Their rescue is bound to be exciting. Should anything happen to a member of his family, killed, injured, or hostage, God help the people involved.

I wonder if the prince will send the Ykhanti transmission to Clara to have Jincho translate the parts that couldn’t be translated. Glad we are getting to seeing responses of Wyatt's Hanstrung efforts from others. Especially from Wyatt's family and with the Duke last week. Interesting that the Staples are surprised by Wyatt's brutality. That they see him as changed. I suspect in the future they will see first hand that this brutality by Wyatt comes from the desire to protect what is most important to him. Only 2 weeks away, I could see Maximillian or Siro getting wind of a plan by the Cayston's to capture Wyatt's family. Then Wyatt going after to protect his family. Another option (and the one I prefer) is seeing both Maximillian and Siro going to Volantis to protect the Staples. Evacuating them to Haego and hiding the Staples within Wyatt's barony.

The Strategos ends the negotiations with, “May your conflict end soon, Prince, with your victory.” Is there something the Hierarchy knows but isn’t willing to divulge at this time, or have they chosen a side in the HW?

I am wondering still if Mr Worlo will recognize that the family needs to be careful of the threats that may be coming their way due to Wyatt's enemies. Also, only one thing is missing from this chapter: Wyatt's elevation to Baron. What a rush from the addiction. Thanks for the chapter and we will be waiting for another when you can.
