[REVIEW] The Black Ship - Chapter 48 Part 5

He's another great review/overview by YouTuber @Soundwave119.

It's a good recap before we get the next part of the Black Ship.

Not sure he should be bashing me in his reviews though...

I enjoyed the review. Now, as to Clara, the Prince, and the Duke all see Wyatt as the kind of man who is "truly" a noble. Each of them see the underlying respect and loyalty to the Princapality and his respect for anyone that the commoners show true respect around them to be worthy of mutual respect: Like Oakmoon who was good and respected, without a thought Wyatt applies biogel to the man's wounds and tells the entarage to take him to medical. Now in this episode, we see another side of the Duke when he evaluates each person for what they do in following their respective professional duty. Javier was a non-combatant, Felicity was supposed to negotiate a deal with Ferintis and then return, instead, she goes after the Duke's niece and ends up making a serious threat on Clara's life, for which she was captured. After surrendering, she tried to attack Wyatt, so Wyatt makes her pay, but Wyatt follows orders and only disables Felicity. In every case he faces, if they surrender and offer no resistance, Wyatt lets them go to the hangar; if the person tries to fight, he ends them. Now that is what a Knight is supposed to do. And at the level done on the Galant Venture, Wyatt shows a near Royal Marine kind of efficiency. Veronica, in my opinion, shows just how bipolar she is due to how she thinks of Wyatt since "daddy" now sees Wyatt as a worthy man. I do think that the Duke wants to get the details on what happened from the survivors who are being returned sooner to expedite the HW it also gives the Duke a possible chance to see Wyatt and Clara in neutral House Ferintis territory. I also like the little bit of recognition given to fans on the Discord conversations, it gives more involvement to the fans and some more reasons for people to join the Discord. Love the review, and please keep giving them. We/I enjoy the perspective.

I was thinking the same and looked up the scene you are referencing. This was at the beginning of chapter 18 when Redford was leading what was left of a talon of fighters to engage the Black Ship before they knew that Cynthia and crew had captured it. The thoughts articulated in the story were.... .... Being reduced to a single splintered talon was a low point in his career, or it would be if weren't for the circumstances that led him to his current position. "Damn you Cornelius. Whatever possessed you to commit such betrayal," he asked himself, wishing he could know that answer. Memories came to him of serving faithfully the previous Prince, his friend and liege, of Cornelius who stood next to him the day he was crowned. He was the sibling who accepted his demotion with the most grace and the stewardship of Camrin. Forever relinquishing the Astor name and taking the mantle of Draymor with gusto and the deepest honor. What changed Cornelius, for you to set your duties and honor aside," Redford thought bitterly. I think Redford was to the Prince's father and Cornelius similar to what Cynthia is to Clara and the current Prince. Perhaps close enough to Cornelius that Veronica does feel particularly betrayed by him.

Soundwave119, I do believe this is one of your best reviews. Top 5 at the least. Thank you for taking the time to write these reviews. I enjoy each one.

@soundwave119 I remember on early chapters about Redford thinking something around this. What going on the Cornelius mind for doing this. I think Redford fought beside Cornelius and they were close friends of sort. And Veronica seeing this as a betrayal to his father friend being on the Prince Side as a betrayal. My thoughts about that
