I've always thought the Council of Nobles once freed will offer Clara the throne. She's the only one actually helping the Principality during this time. She stands head and shoulders above the rest of the do nothings.

All of the prince’s court just sound like all talk and no action. Is it time to give Lintar something to do? Hey Lintar, work us up a battle plan, take a couple days to get it together. Brief me, (the prince). Bring your staff be prepared to answer questions. Separately, Vivian and Hempstroke, show me ( the prince), your best plan. I expect you to have an actionable plan in 3 days. The prince needs to put all those fluffy advisors on a task. No excuses, we need some results. The prince needs a strong executive officer to be running his staff. imho

Is it just greed and ambition, or is there something else we don’t know about yet?? Also it’s obvious that he loves Veronica, but he walks a fine line with her. Seems like he would love to have Clara as a daughter, he definitely respects her talents and abilities!!!

2025-04-30 15:45:31 +0000 UTCMakes me wonder if the Duke mentored Clara. Even for a short time. Duke realizing Wyatt likely had a more significant hand in the Jintrax battle was very "Clara" like. I am guessing at some point the Duke will confide to Clara/Wyatt his reasons for the coup. And that there is a greater threat to the Principality coming.

He dismisses claims that Wyatt must be something more than a commonor by using a veriation on Ocxam's Razor; " The explanation that requires the fewest assumptionns is usually correct." In keeping that talent is confined to nobility from Ch48/pt 4.

Duke holds his meeting of the relevant supporting houses implicated in the news, all but House Sintar are present as requested. The duke suspects the likely reason as related to Felicity's circumstances in the report he received. Every seat at the table is squirming presently, unsure how Duke Draymore will respond to the report. They plead for time to investigate the contents, to challenge the credibility, and are instructed not to bother. The damage is done, the source had little reason to mislead him, and he suspects if any is manipulated it will be only minor details. Instead Duke Draymore turns to each, addressing their implication in part of this report. He admonished House Wunder not to be overly harsh on Javier for he has already suffered a great deal and his actions might have been expected for his background and situation. The exception being that leaving his post allowed the unprecedented assault on the Gallant Venture "uncontested" by Wyatt Staples (this ignoring the solo effort, and those that died oppose his boarding). He tried to sympathize with House Cayston for suffering so many losses, but found Tamiran Cayston cold hearted and declaring losses are to be expected, but to have Casamir returning alive he was grateful. Veronica also sat in on the meeting and cried out the cowardice of Javier's actions during the report only to be firmly rebuked to silence by her father while he stated his view of things. Like a parent, shouting her name demanded her immediate silence and obedience. It is also not unlike how you might correct your trained dog to heed your command. Formal contacts established on matters concerning the Houses present, the duke dismisses them and ponders his next move. As furious as he might be about the results and implications, he had the presence of mind to see the humor around Wyatt Staples key participation. Deciding his move he declares he would meet Wyatt Staples, and he orders Veronica to ready a ship and message Jhinaq to divert to meet on Morningstar in person over their objections about the risk. Duke Draymore's daughter Veronica sort of embodies the same image Maxamillian ascribed to nobles calling Wyatt an Astor Dog. That some dogs are trained to hunt and kill over being simple pets. Could we be looking at a 'dog fight' in the future (Veronica vs Wyatt)? Although Veronica has tamed down since her father shows some interest in Wyatt, but she still see's Wyatt as a possible threat. Wasn't Jhinaq piloting some of the captured ships back to the prince? If so and he diverts to meet Duke Draymore on Morningstar, will the duke get back his ships, instead of letting them fall into the Prince's hands? I really loved how the planet news agency got to provide the report on Haego, subverting initial chances that the information could be repressed before it became public. Here even in the future we see news media being used to further the agenda of governments, even offering personal opinion speculation on the information that suggest other information than reported. This is why Veronica is most outraged because it portrays her father in a poor light on leadership and control of his supporters, questioning his ability to serve as regent. This was sort of expected as the house committee refused to name him regent over the prince's claim to the throne, implying not enough houses supported the duke's claim, making those that do support him likely more radical and prone to act independent of orders from the duke. Next week we might get to see the reverse side about the communication from the Yichanti Imperium to the prince. Don't leave us hanging Ekhidna, maybe another news story how the prince and Yichanti Imperium have agreed to a summit talk during the capture returns? Would be wild to see all of it unfold on the vid with Mr Worlo and the Staples family getting wind of Wyatt's escapades on the planet news networks (PNN) *snickering at my own idea on news channel name*. Don't let Jade fall the way side either, we all want to know how he investigates his leads and works his trade under the noses of so many noble houses.

One must wonder whoever created the black ships, what is their reaction going to be? It has been thought that they win two out of three ways, A wild card is the hierarchy. So great that we now hear from news outlets, great addition. Interesting how its not Cayston's but Tiegen being seen as most trusted by Draymore. Also intriguing that Draymore wants to meet Wyatt. Is it respect, curiosity or more? One has to think if the black ship builders have the strong hold on Draymore they think they have. Some have questioned whether its an Astor behind the dispute. Clara went to the Ure Diviners for tech, nothing would keep another Astor from seeking tech (black Ships) from another nation or conglomerate. Remember credits are endless for an Astor, to a point, ergo the limit to the black ships provided. One must consider the elegance the black ships have, not utilitarian but regale. That sounds like a royal influence. I would expect discord in the Draymore faction now that benefits the Astorian family. Why does it seem like there is so much doubt or concern with Draymore? Or has Akhidna just provided a better retrospect of his inner workings? A side note, I suspect Jinch will replicate the boogieman armor in limited production for the Composters, Cynthia will train the Composters making them into an elite force beyond piloting, Perhaps a squad equal to 2 Royal Marines. Enough daydreaming, We all suspect Clara is training Wyatt to be more, a bridge for her machinations and by default the Prince to bring change to the principality to change past the stagnation of the old guard. Clara and the Prince Clearly(?) want reform. Lets think about Jade, is he a failed RM, an agent, an alien or a big player regarding the poppet master behind the black ships. We all must prepare for a pivotal character or an important person to die soon, it will trigger Wyatt to do something that Clara cannot control and may save her from herself. Wyatt having the mental fortitude like an RM shields him from Clara at times, as I suspect Milkades can also do to a point. Clara has stated that Wyatt still confounds her and her abilities. This will come into play sooner or later. If I could see the future I hope it shows Cynthia removing Veronicas head in a big boss stand off. Just saying. Veronica and Cynthia are blunt tools, I suspect they will come to blows. We have not heard from Andrew Cayston regarding Casmire, mad people make mistakes, we should see Draymores factions falling apart and perhaps infighting turncoats and or more.

Good to get more of the Duke's side of things. Didn't expect Veronica's response to Wyatt. Expected she would be out for Wyatt's blood. Not .... that. Duke and Veronica going out to meet Istonel Firentis ships. This should be interesting. I wonder how much Istonel of the Hastrung battle will he share with the Duke. Oh, will Captain Siro and the Long Wolf meet with the Duke as well? These next few episodes will be interesting. Going to enjoy seeing Veronica meet with Felicity. Veronica will get even more "intrigued" with Wyatt when she see's what Wyatt did to Felicity (broken nose and wrist/arm). Probably put a smile on Veronica's face. .... well, good night all. 2025-04-29 15:13:52 +0000 UTCDidn’t expect this side of the story nice to gain insight into this he dukes way of think also does an excellent portrayal of war in a nutshell rarely is there ever true evil In war just like a fist fight at the bar someone’s feeling got over something stupid and it boils into a mess through power propaganda and greed but it would be excellent to find out what’s driving the duke is one of the major human powers forcing his hand or is something much worse coming and he don’t want the seat just needs to be sure the princapality is ready for the coming fight that’s what it seems like to me anyway the duke don’t seem like a power hungry dick just a worried man with knowledge others are not ready to hear
