Is the Hierarchy punishing non-compliant ykanti by turning them over to the drazzan? it sure sounds like at least 25% of the recovered ykanti were free thinkers, artists, etc. Now wouldn’t that information turn the ykanti population into a frenzy?

2025-04-20 14:46:50 +0000 UTCSeems to me that the tough thing is to defeat a battleship. Pretty hard to do that because of its defensive capabilities, shields and armor. But what would happen if you could bypass all of that? You want to get the explosive inside the ship. Jincho adjusted the ftl system to allow a ship to move around anywhere. What would happen if you could combine an ftl generator with a missile? A fighter could move the combo close to a battleship and program the ftl generator to carry the weapon inside the ship bridge. So with a missile that suddenly appears inside bridge you could blow it up from inside out. With a remote detonator, you could give the battleship a chance to surrender before blowing it up.

2025-04-18 00:27:08 +0000 UTCit’s very smart of the prince and princess to ‘divide and conquer’ process with the Duke’s followers. The prince is keeping the Duke’s forces occupied while the princess knocks out followers. So a powerful supporter is the Firentes house, now that the fallen star system is back under control it gives a support system for friendly forces and sets up the next phase. The princess is certainly a hard hitter going after the Cayston clan. The team is getting its bumps and bruises healed and are becoming a force to be reckoned with.

He is struggling with holding it all together while dealing with all the other aspects like animation, apparel or lots of people stying to steal a little of his time. If he is like me, I mostly use the late evenings to write and ponder how my story is going to unfold until I receive my decired end result.

I keep being reminded of the Groucho Marx quote " I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as one of its members" and thus must continue to confess that that this episode whilst welcome did not really add to my interest or passion about the Black ship... So I'm not on the same page it seems as my fellow listeners of the Black ship . Im not really a slow burn reader where events in a book are basically happening over the real time eg I wonder if we will read about the NoirNavio leaving in 3 weeks or longer in other words 3 episodes plus...I'm simply expressing my own preference for a pace of story and action. I think a couple of previous commentators have suggested that there is enough bandwidth now in the whole Blackship world that side stories, and indeed whole episodes can be devoted to a single character ect like Mr Worlo did and that's fine but for me I want to have a reasonable time frame for the liberation of asteria and the fightback and defeat ultimately of the Duke and then the whole new situation after that.

2025-04-15 11:35:49 +0000 UTCIt wouldn't shock me to see some of the Ykhanti settle in the Barony especially the farmers. I also thought it was cool on of the first things Wyatt does is give commoners who join his Barony free access to his library. No quicker way to train up his "people".

You can see Wyatt's weariness and consternation as he sits on the couch trying to comprehend and prepare for needs of his Barony of the Screaming Forrest. I wonder if any ykhanti will be offered a home in the Barony Screaming Forrest? As I have said before Jincho is has the best comic relief parts. I can just see Jincho running up giving Milkades a hug 🤗.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Now we just need to create a place within Wyatt Staple's Barony for Ykanti's home world within the Principality. And I agree with a few others, Clara & Cynthia are happy that Wyatt wants a library for the commoners. And in truth, Wyatt comparing Nobility politics to Cynthia's training also means he does understand it is hard to rule, but the bruises from learn how are worth it. Considering he has advanced in martial arts to notable levels, he should be a good Noble with the right nudges. Oh, and love the images of Clara & Cynthia, and their knitting pieces. Now Thank you again for such a wonderful chapter and we all are so happy to be waiting for another chapter.

2025-04-14 18:20:29 +0000 UTCwell done! this episode touched on and started to answer many of my questions. it was funny to see Jincho tell the doubters in his species ‘believe me or don’t believe me, i don’t care’ as he shares his success with the humans. jincho has no fear of the bullies among the larger ykanti. this episode also opens up a whole new story arc regarding returning ykanti to their nation, possibly improving species relations. lots of good things. wyatt getting his head squeezed and his brain exercised regarding higher levels of Principality inner workings. I like his attitude. It makes his head hurt but he charges forward overcoming obstacles. Sounds like positive energy

In the Principality futher education is limited to the Nobility, commonors are only allowed books directly relating to their work. If Wyatt hands books and therefore knowledge freely to the settlers he would be breaking some of the shakles that hold Commoners Back and immediately establishing his Barony as something new and fresh in the Principality - and nobody can stop him. This is exactly what Clara and the Prince both seem to want, fundemental reform to break the stagnation that's holding the Principallity back. Hence Clara - and Cynthia's approval. I suspect this may be the reason for the succession war, the Prince is a reformist, Duke Draymore is a tradition bound Conservative who is backed by either a Private Interest Group (Money) or a Foreign Power quite happy to see the Principality slide even further into irrelevance and thus enhancing their own power.

It is appropriate that Clara sends these Yikanti to speak to those Yikanti captured by the Drazzan. Hearing the news from their own species carried much more impact. I am curious what the story is for Jincho and the captured Yichanti 'soldiers'. He (Jincho) declaired he was 'fine' because his position on Noirnavio gave him solace. He clearly has an eye for reading the room as he surveyed the captured. He notes the imprinted social hierarchy of his kindred species and the lack of any leadership among them. Knowing this he introduces himself, then makes a simple statement, knowing they will want more answers. He allows them to voice objections and speculations for what he meant them to understand, before he elaborates. Milkades then delivers the princess's message that they may chose to go back home, or enter into an agreement with House Astor for services. This offer expresses the desire to smooth relations with The Yikanti Hagiarchy, but also leaves room for some to take advantage of serving the Astor House under contracts of service, not as slaves or prisoners. When we find Wyatt he is suffering the tutoring of Clara on his noble responsibilities. Wyatt expresses his distaste for the duties of a noble and the daunting nature of the responsibility he now bears. Though overwhelming he struggles for the sake of his new house, Clara and Cynthia point out they have grown up in these roles themselves and are attempting to ensure his success by ensuring he has the basic skills and understanding. Wyatt then compares the struggle to the physical training he endures with Cynthia which now seems more appealing, but does not abandon his effort, knowing how important this is for his future. Wyatt has a silent moment of clarity and inspiration and begins gathering libraries of books, not for himself but those his barony will need to educate. Though silent, his actions are noted by Clara and Cynthia and rate their silent approval knowing the direction Wyatt has chosen to attempt is a sign of his desire to succeed. Clara lays out her plans going forward about seeking to kill Tamiron or Andrew Cayston, Andrew likely the greater target though harder to reach, his fall will have greater impact on the Cayston followers. Wyatt curiously remained quiet on this tactical decision by Clara. Thank you for another great chapter.

The chapter gives some answers, but opens many, many questions. What are limitations the fabricators? Why aren"t AI, robots, drones more common and integrated into society? What are the parameters of Artificial Intellgwnce? Why are things so costly? With facbricators, AI, robots, drones, etc, mass production should be easy and led to low-cost military and consumer goods.
